2 William S. Wismer of Perkasie went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was 85.
He was the loving husband of Loretta M. (Freed) Wismer. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on April 22, 2016.
Born in Bedminster Township, he was the son of the late Noah and Verna (Shive) Wismer.
Mr. Wismer worked as a machinist most of his life. He owned and operated Wismer Machine Company, Inc., Sellersville, for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, he worked for the U.S. Gauge, Division of AMETEK, Sellersville. He started his working career hauling milk for B.R. Scholl, East Rockhill Township.
He was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Perkasie, and Christ Church, Perkasie, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the church choir.
An avid hunter, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, gardening, and traveling to and spending time in Nova Scotia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela Jean Moyer of Cottage Grove, Tenn., and Linda D. Wismer of Perkasie, a son, William Robert Wismer of Sellersville; nine grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren; two brothers, Emerson Wismer of Westfield, Pa., and Herbert Wismer and his wife, Carol, of Wellsboro, Pa., and a sister, Edna Fulmer and her husband, Marvin, of Savinsville, Pa. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, N. Dale Moyer; a brother, Noah Wismer, and a sister, Dorothy Gabel.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Perkasie.
