3 Dorothy Etta Kice, 88, of Paradise Valley, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Brookmont Healthcare Center in Effort. She would have been 89 on Nov. 27. She was the wife of the late Elmer Kice Jr., who passed away on Oct. 19, 1980.
Born in Paradise Valley, she was the daughter of James and Minnie (Switzgable) Getz.
She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.
She was the head housekeeper at Crescent Lodge in Paradise Valley for more than 27 years.
She was a member of Keokee Chapel, where she served as a greeter.
She was a dedicated member of the Willing Workers. Her hobbies included needlework, reading and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Kice and his wife, Priscilla, of Cresco and Donald Kice and Donna Dunlap of Skytop; grandchildren Randy, Russell, Morgan Christopher and Dean Kice and Jamie Gerold; and great-grandchildren Madison and Timothy.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Mary Sebring, Albert Getz, Harold Getz, Mildred Goucher, Elsie Rinker and LuLu LeBar.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. The Rev. Wayne Pratt will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery.
