Evelyn (Eveline) May Smith was born on 12 August 1909 in Glen Flora, Rusk, Wisconsin.1,2 She and William (Bill) Edward Shaffer were married on 27 May 1927 in Pallatine, Illinois. She died on 31 May 1979, at age 69, in Chico, Butte, California.2 She was buried in Chico Cemetery, Chico, Butte, California.3

Lester P. Smith was born on 18 July 1912 in Wisconsin.1 He died on 18 December 1970, at age 58. He was buried on 20 December 1970 in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Dwight, Livingston, Illinois.2,3
Lester P. Smith was an Illinois State Reformatory for Women Employee.2 Lester P. Smith, 58, died at 8:05 a.m. today in his Dwight home following a short illness.

Services have been set for 2 p.m. Sunday in Von Qualen funeral home, Dwight. Rev. Walter Batty will officiate services and burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Born in Glenflora, Wis., July 18, 1912, he was a son of William and Sadie (Cork) Smith. He was married in Woodstock, Feb. 5, 1931 to Ila McKune.

Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Franklin, Hampton Park: Leslie, Dwight; 15 grandchildren; six sisters, Laura Smith, Mrs. Evelyn Shaffer, Chico, Calif., Mrs. Thorkil (Elsie) Thorikilsen, Englewood, Colo.; Mrs. Joseph (Celia) Rossi, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Alvin (Viola) Oelschlager, Mrs. Dorothy Burg, both of Dwight.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

He was a member of the United Methodist churtch, Dwight and employed at Illinois State Reformatory for Women, Dwight.

Dorothy Margaret Smith was born on 29 January 1918 in Bruce, Rusk, Wisconsin.1 She and Walter A. Burg were married on 19 October 1937 in Wauconda, Lake, Illinois. She died on 27 September 1993, at age 75, in Dwight, Livingston, Illinois. She was buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Dwight, Livingston, Illinois.2
Dorothy M. Burg, 75, a resident of Heritage Manor, Dwight, formerly of Gardner, died at 8:52 a.m. yesterday ( Sept. 27, 1993) at the nursing home.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Von Qualen-Harris Funeral Home, Dwight, the Rev. Gary Ford officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Dwight.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burg was born Jan. 29, 1918, at Bruce, Wis., a daughter of William and Sadie Crok Smith. She married Walter Burg Oct. 19, 1937, at Wauconda. He died April 9, 1969. Survivors include two sons, Walter William Burg, Gardner; and Gerald A. Burg, Dwight; a daughter, Evelynne M. Albrecht, Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Viola Oelschanger, Ariizona; Elsie Thorilsen, Denver, Colo.; Celia Rossi, Sacramento, Calif.; and Laura Amith, Chica, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildrern.

A daughter, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Burg wea a member of Dwight United Methopdist Church and Dwight Senior Citizens.

Memorials may be made to the Dwight Public Library.
