Kearney - Lloyd W. Wintermote, 88, of Kearney died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will continue before the service on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Amherst.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at the church. Pastor Bill Heermann will officiate.
Pallbearers are Luke McKeon, Caleb McKeon, Dan McKeon, Jeff Johnson, Hans Berg and Devan Ackley.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Pearson, AJ Gardner, Steve Johnson, Kyle Linke and Seth Harder.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association.
Lloyd was born on Aug. 16, 1930 to Clarance and Cleona (Harkins) Wintermote in Cheyenne, WY. He graduated from Chambers Public High School.
He married Betty Thorin on Jan. 26, 1951 in West Point. They lived in Chambers where Lloyd worked as a blacksmith and welder.
They moved to Kearney in 1960 and Lloyd went to work for Caldwell Manufacturing. In 1975 Lloyd began working for the Nebraska Department of Roads until he retired in 1995.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Amherst.
Lloyd enjoyed drawing, wood carving, flying airplanes and horses.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Betty Wintermote of Kearney; two daughters Norma (Jeff) Pearson of Overton and Janet (A.J.) Gardner of North Platte; one brother Leonard (Sandra) Wintermote of Elm Creek; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter Donna Marie, one son Lee Allen and one brother Arthur Wintermote.
