3 Joan M. Vickers, age 79, of Crestview, passed away Friday morning, August 28, 2015, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, after a brief illness. She was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on October 20, 1935. Her family moved to California in 1942, where she met married the love of her life, Willie Bruce Vickers. In 1963, they moved to Okaloosa County, where Joan was employed in several businesses including First National Bank and Trust. She was also one of the founders of the Destin Seafood Festival. In addition to her husband, Willie Bruce, she is survived by a son, Tommy Joe Vickers and his family; a daughter, Lisa Crabtree, and her family; and a sister, Sandy McDonald, of Palm Desert, Calif. The family will have a memorial gathering for friends and family at their residence in Crestview on Saturday, September 5, 2015, from 1 to 4 PM to celebrate Joan’s life. . In lieu of flowers, please contribution to a Hospice Organization in Joan’s memory.

Mrs. Florence G. Keepers, wife of A. T. Keepers of Shawnee, died at Rochester, Minn., on Monday, May 31. She underwent an operation at the Mayo Bothers hospital on Saturday, but failed to rally. Mrs. Keepers was 26 years old. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Wintermote of of Shawnee and and was married to Mr. Keeps on February 22, 1911. Besides her parents she is survived by a aiater, Mrs. Harley of Clearwater, Neb., and five brothers, all living at Shawnee. The funeral will be held from the Wintermote home in Shawnee tomorrow at 12 o'clock, Rev. H. E. Shephard officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemeter.

Barbara M. Beetow, 76, of Galaxy Drive, Janesville, WI, formerly of Lake Geneva, WI, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Mercy's Haven House Hospice, Janesville. Barbara was born on May 1, 1929, in rural Elkhorn , WI, daughter of Curtis and Myrtle (Foote) Weaver. Barbara married Charles "Chuck" Beetow on June 23, 1951, in the Old Como Community Church.
Barbara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1951 from the Whitewater State Teachers College. She then received her Masters degree later from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Barbara taught school at the primary level for over 38 years, of which 33 years was with the Lake Geneva School District, retiring in 1989. Barbara was active with her church, singing solo for many Sunday services at Como Community Church. She was currently a member of Millard Community Church and a long-time member of Alpha Delta Kappa, and served as its state president for a term. She also was a member of the Janesville Area Retired Teachers Assoc.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Chuck of Janesville; a nephew and 5 nieces, and a host of friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John Weaver. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at MILLARD COMMUNITY CHURCH, with Rev. Lyle Heinitz officiating. Burial will be in the Millard Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, and at the Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements completed by HAASE-DERRICK-LOCKWOOD FUNERAL HOMES.

Charles was the son of Charles Wesley and Zetta (Wintermute) Beetow. In his early years he and his family were involved in the circus. Chuck attended Elkhorn schools and graduated from Elkhorn Area High School in 1943. He served in the United States Air Force from December 1943 to April 1946 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, specifically the Mariana Islands with the 20th Air Force. He was discharged at the rank of corporal. He then attended Whitewater State Teachers College and obtained a degree in education. On June 23 1951, he was united in marriage to Barbara Weaver at the Como Community Church, Lake Geneva, WI. In 1958 Chuck obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. He also became a lifelong Hawkeye's fan, often traveling to Iowa City to watch games. He taught his entire professional career, mainly in the Lake Geneva School District, which he retired from. In his younger years he golfed extensively. Later in life he became quite the fisherman all year around. He had a passion for prose, poetry and writing. Chuck published two books under the author name Cee Bee. He read extensively and constantly was learning. A brilliant individual that lived a simple and low key life, he took great appreciation and value in little things. He loved his country, church, God, home and yard, nature, friends, family and holidays. Charles died at the Vintage on the Ponds, Delavan. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Barbara. He is survived by two nephews; three great-nephews; by his Goddaughter; and many very good friends. CHARLES W. BEETOW
Charles Beetow, 82, of 125 Franklin St., Elkhorn, died Tuesday, June 3, at the Sherwood Care Center, Williams Bay. He was born June 2, 1904, in Elkhorn and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of Katherine and William Beetow. He was married to Zetta Wintermute June 2, 1923 in Elkhorn. He was formerly emplyed as a Forman at the Frank Holton Co.He was a member of the First Church of Christian Scientist, Boston, MA and also a member of the Christian Science Society of Elkhorn. Survivors include a wife; a son Charles of Lake Geneva; a sister, Margaret Kennedy of Elkhorn. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Betts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Tibbets. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour priot to the service.
