April 17, 1943 - November 6, 2010 - Michael Evans Murray was a native to Los Angeles. He was a multi-talented spirit, leading a life as an excellent technical craftsman, artist, and musician. After graduating in the 1960s from Chouinard Art Institute with a BA in Design, he met the artist Sam Francis, world- renowned contemporary artist. Michael also built the first wind turbine prototypes for the Wind Harvest Company and served on its Board. During his years as a finish carpenter, Michael worked on projects designed by architect Jim Delong (a Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice). In 2004, Michael and his wife Margo purchased and re-modeled Thee Cutlery at Manhattan Village. Throughout his life he continued to express his creativity through painting, woodworking, computer design and gardening. Michael Murray is survived by his beloved wife, Margo J. Heltzel, his son, Aaron Kalen Murray (Marissa), his grandsons, Dez and Jayce and his sisters, Diana Smith (Jerry) and Jane Murray, MD (Christopher White). In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to an education fund for his grandsons.

Biography

Charles Schuyler (C.s.) Evans was born on 3 January 1860 in Peru, Miami, Indiana. He and Almeda Beery were married on 14 October 1883 in Darke County, Ohio.1 He and Ella Mae Fauchier were married on 17 February 1896 in Wellington, Sumner, Kansas. He died on 26 September 1927, at age 67, in Cloud Chief, Washita, Oklahoma. He was buried on 28 September 1927 in Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, Washita, Oklahoma.1
Charles Schuyler (C.s.) Evans was a Stockman/ Farmer.1 C. S. Evans, pioneer stockman and farmer of Washita County, died at his home near Cloud Chief Monday following a short illness. On September 11 he suffered a stroke of paralysis and little hope was given for his recovery.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church of Cloud Chief Wednesday afternoon and burial was made at Lawnview cemetery. A large number from Cordell, as well as hundreds of friends from all over the county attended the funeral.

Mr. Evans ws one of the best know farmers in the county and at one time was recognized as one of the leading breeders of pure-bred stock in this section of the State.

Charles Schuyler Evans was born at Peru, Indiana on January 3, 1860. The son of Elijah and Elizabeth Evans. He was the oldest of four children.

Moved here in 1896

Mr Evans was united in marriage to Miss Almeda Beery in Ohio in 1883. To this union four sons, Herschel Perry, Clarence Rupert, Earl Raymond, and Roscoe Harlan were born, all whom survive their father. In 1887 the family moved to McPherson County, Kansas, where they resided until the death of Mrs Almeda Evans in 1890.

In 1893 Mr Evans and Miss Ella May Fauchier were united in marriage and in 1896 moved to the present family home near Cloud Chief. To this union were born seven sons and one daughter. Banner Orsermus, Charles Arthur Lee, Lewis Raleigh, Mable Caroline, George Edwin, Ira Cecil, Claude Edward, and Edger Erick. All of whom are living except Edgar Erick who died on February 11, 1918.

Mr Evans has lived on his Cloud Chief farm continuously since 1896 with the exception of a short period spent in Cordell. Besides his widow and eleven children, he is survived by 26 grandchildren and one brother G. B. Evans of Hobart.

Rev C.W. Rasure, pastor of the Christian Church of Anadarko, conducted the funeral services.
