Garry Jenkins, 74, of Fort Dodge, died August 19, 2006 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Trembly officiating. Entombment will be held in North Lawn Mausoleum. Full military honors will be presented by the VFW Post 1856. Visitation will be held from 4- 7p.m. Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Garry is survived by his wife Earlene; his children and their families, son Rodney (Lyn) Jenkins of Brandon, SD; grandsons Brandon and Kyle Jenkins; son Brad (Deanne) Jenkins of Omaha; grandsons Reed and Nicholas Jenkins; daughter Cheryl (Kelly) Angstrom of Fort Dodge; grandsons Anthony (A.J.) Angstrom, Seoul, Korea, Justin and Cory Angstrom, Fort Dodge; daughter Rhonda Williams of Chandler, AZ; grandson Tyler Williams and granddaughter Jennifer Williams. He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice, his father Herbert and his brothers Dee, Keith and Doug. Garry Lee Jenkins, the son of Herbert and Bernice (Dagen) Jenkins, was born on April 5, 1932 in Dayton. He graduated from Dayton High School and then joined the Navy. Home on military leave, Garry married Earlene Lawson at the Dayton Methodist Church in 1951. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. The couple made their home in Gowrie until 1958 when they moved to Fort Dodge. Garry was employed for Celotex for 36 years. Garry loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren?s sporting events. He will be remembered by his great senseof humor, his impeccable lawn and solving the world?s problems over a cup of coffee with friends. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
