HEMLOCK --Gladys I. LePla, of Hemlock, formerly of Yale, loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 at the age of 83 years.

The daughter of the late James and Marion Ramage, Gladys was born Nov. 37, 1921 in Ubly.

She was married to Glenn N. LePla on Aug. 2, 1941. He preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1996.

Gladys was a member of Jeddo United Methodist Church in Jeddo. She taught Sunday School and was a leader of the United Methodist Womens Group. She loved to bowl, paint, arts and crafts, make afghans, bake bread, play games and laugh.

Surviving are one son; daughter and their spouses, Nelson and Carol LePal of Hemlock, Janice and Marty Baltzell of Chelsea, MI; five grandchildren, Duane and Sandy LePla, Kevin and Billie LePlas, Brett LePla and Erin Decher, Brian and Kim LePla, Bethany LePla; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Beatrice and Otis cox, Ardis and Marsh Matthes, Edward and Audrey Ramage, Melvin and Carol Ramage; brother-in-law, Lloyd McKnight; several nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Duane LePla; and one sister, Althea McKnight.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Sagniaw Valley Community Church, 3660 Hermansau, Saginaw. Pastor Richard Sayad will officiate. Private entombment will take place in Christian Memorial Cultural Cemetery, Peck.

Friends may call at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, where the family will be present on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Otis Cox, age 78 years, of Meek Street, Caro, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at his home. He was born on November 14, 1926 in Coldwater. Upon graduating high school in Northville, Otis went into the Navy and served during WWII. His service was aboard the USS WEDDERBURN DD 684. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he married the former Beatrice Ramage in Novi. Throughout his working career he was involved in the grocery business, either as an employee or an owner, and retired from Uncle Ray's in Vassar. Otis was a member of the Caro Church of the Nazarene, Caro V.F.W. Post #4164 and a Golden Eagle member of the Bay City Eagles. He loved woodworking, his rose garden and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; one son, two daughters and their spouses, Leeman (Sue) Cox, Kathy (Eugene) Esckelson and Christine (Lee) Teschendorf; five grandchildren, Sonja, Laura, Christopher, Matthew and Kristen; seven great-grandchildren; and many other children who loved him as their second dad. "Daddy, we love You." Otis is also survived by one brother, Dewayne (Caroline) Cox; and two sisters Vivian Carty and Mary Lou (Jim) Dean; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his remaining siblings, Eugene Cox, LeRoy Cox and Edith Bowerman.

AUDREY ELLEN (SILVERTHORN) RAMAGE PECK

Audrey Ellen (Silverthorn) Ramage, age 74, of Peck went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2009.

Audrey was born on August 16, 1935 in Yale, Michigan, to the late Pirie Silverthorn and Audrey (Cockerill) Silverthorn Hazzard.

She was a 1953 graduate of Yale High School. Audrey married Edward James Ramage on November 14, 1953 in Gardendale, Michigan.

Audrey loved being outside tending her roses and traveling to Texas for the winter. She loved her friends on Ferguson Lane, at church and in Texas. She loved her family, children and especially her grandchildren and mother. She loved God and believed in Christ with all her heart, mind and soul. She brought Christ to her family.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Edward; children and families, Linda (William) Boughner of Fredic and children, Julie and Kimberly, Steven (Cynthia) Ramage of Emmett and children, Jennifer, Bonnie and Michelle, Cheryl (Andrew) Bloom of Florida and children, Tricia, Nicholas and Kevin, Jeffrey (Dee) Ramage of Kentucky and children, Richard and Petty Officer Sarah US Navy; eight great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, William (Beulah) Silverthorn, Marvin (Marion) Silverthorn, Martha (Don) Guilliat of Yale, Charles (Sharon) Silverthorn of Caro, Mary Teets of Tennessee and Marjorie Gibson of Iowa; brother and sistesr-in law, Beatrix Cox of Caro, Lloyd (Ruby) McKnight of Clio, Ardis (Marshall) Matthes of Saginaw and Melvin (Carol) Ramage of Jeddo; several nieces and nephews.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Roy Hazzard; sisters-in-law, Althea Ramage McKnight, Gladys Ramage LePla; brothers-in law, Glenn LaPla, Clair Teets and Murray Gibson.

Funeral services were held at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky with Rev. Paul Castle who officiated.

Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sandusky.

Pallbearers - Steven Ramage, Jeffrey Ramage, Richard Ramage, Fred Ramage, Luke Ramage, Brian Sexton and Brandon Preston.

Maxine was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Stepping Stones and Cub Scouts. Maxine loved baking and decorating wedding cakes. She enjoyed playing Bingo where she made many friends.

Maxine's survivors included her daughters, Susan M. Manteufel and Mary A. (Glenn) Savage; son, Howard A Manteufel Jr.; granddaughter, Rachel M. (Rikki) Cotton; grandson, Dakota C. Savage and great-granddaughters, Amaya X. and Ryen E. Cotton.

Also surviving are sisters, Mary Ellen (Melvin) Cole and Florence (Joseph) Watson; brother, Virgil Clark; sister-in-law, Mary French and many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom she loved very much.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardine A. Acha and Charles O. Clark; infant daughter, Lisa Gail; brother, Herman O. Clark and sister, Alice (Jack) Haubenstricker.
