Carol E. Krohn, 28, of 4431 Richardson Road, died Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, of injuries suffered Tuesday in a farm accident at her home.

Mrs. Krohn was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Port Huron. She married Richard Krohn, in Bad Axe. Mrs. Krohn was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and a charter member
of the Elkton Jaycettes.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard and Ryan Krohn; and a daughter, Rachael Krohn; her parents, Elton and Leora Stokan, Port Huron; and two brothers, Richard V. Stokan, Huron County Sheriff, and David Stokan, Port Huron.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Elkton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton.

Elton M. Stokan

Elton M. Stokan, 88, of Port Huron passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.

He was born on April 26, 1916, in Bad Axe, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Molesworth) Stokan.

He married Leora Randall on Oct. 2, 1938, in Bad Axe. She preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1995.

Mr. Stokan served as a firefighter in the Port Huron Fire Department for 38 years where he had been a captain and an assistant chief. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Port Huron, the Masonic Lodge #374 Fort Gratiot, the Mystic Chapter #58 Order of Eastern Star, and was a past president of the Michigan Fireman's Association.

He is survived by two sons: Richard Stokan and his wife, Judy, of Bad Axe, David Stokan and his wife, Linda, of Fort Gratiot; one son-in-law, Richard Krohn and his wife, Nancy, of Elkton; 11 grandchildren: Sally Jo Ryckman and her husband, Larry, of Mt. Pleasant, David Stokan and his wife, Pat, of Bad Axe, Daniel Stokan of Port Huron, Susan Carol Morell of Bad Axe, Diana Litten and her husband, Mike, of Brownstown, Richard Krohn and his wife, Kim, of Elkton, Ryan Krohn and his wife, Sherry, of Ubly, Richard Stokan and his wife, Wendy, of Rochester Hills, Darci Schomburg and her husband, Joseph, of Port Huron, Rachael Matson and her husband, Pete, of Bad Axe, and Rusty Krohn of Elkton; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Elizabeth Krohn; one brother, Durell Stokan; and one great-grandson, Jimmy Morell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Jan Dykshoorn, pastor.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
