Lola L. McConnell, 74, of S. Waverly passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday J uly 11, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Born February 9, 1932 in Sayre, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Mae Rhinebold Hall.
Lola enjoyed painting, crafting, especially making rag dolls, playing cards with her grandchildren, riding around town on her scooter and collecting porcelain shoes and skunks. She was an auxiliary member of the South Waverly Fire Department. She was employed with the Robert Packer Hospital in Central Supply, after which she worked at the Sayre House Nursing Home where she retired after many years of service.
Lola was predeceased by: her son, Earl McConnell; brothers, John Hall, Harold Hall and Ralph Kinney; sisters, Julia Havens, Ruby Wolcott and Esther Parks.
Survivors include: daughters, Nancy Webster of South Waverly and Mary Jane and Scott Fairbanks of Catasauqua, Pa.; sons, James Jr. and Vanessa McConnell of Peru, N.Y., Richard and Sue McConnell of South Waverly, David McConnell of Waverly and Paul and Amy McConnell of South Waverly; sister, Martha Adam of South Waverly; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Keystone Baptist Church at 351 Fulton St., South Waverly on Friday, July 14, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev.
