- Billy Church was born at Nippissing, ON, on 6 July 1899 and was the son of Alexander Church and Caroline Scobie. He died at the St Thomas Elgin Hospital on 31 January 1993 at age 93 with a sound mind and is buried in Trinity Cemetery, Malahide Township.
- The Churchs lived at Glen Colin on the east side of Elgin County Road 40 north of the CNR tracks in Malahide Township. He developed arthritis at age 25 and worked in a saw mill and other local jobs until he was so crippled he was forced onto permanent disability. Billy was well known for his vegetable gardens.
