Catherine Ellis was the daughter of William Ellis and Mary McIntyre and was born 26 August 1861 * at Alvinston, Brooke Township, Lambton County. At her death her obit noted that she was the last of a family of 13.

Died: 7 October 1974 at St Thomas-Elgin Hospital as a result of complications from a car accident of June 16, 1974 in which his wife was killed.

Roy served in WWI enlisting, stating he was a farmer, married, and lived at Belmont, Ontario, and was born at Inwood, Kent County, Ontario, on 30 April 1896 (Ref attestation papers).
The Wintermutes moved to Belmont after Roy retired as a fireman and engineer with the Wabash Railroad in St Thomas. He worked with the railroad from 1945 to after 1963. They were members of Grace United Church in St Thomas.

Roy Edward Wintermute of 225 Main Street, Belmont, died at St. Thomas - Elgin General Hospital, Monday in his 79th year.

He was a retired Wabash Railway engineer, and a member of the United Transportation Union.

A member of the Belmont Masonic Lodge, A. F. & A. M., No. 190, he was also a member of the Maple Leaf Chapter, No 3, OES.

He was member of Belmont United church.

His wife, Eula Merle Cloes Wintermute, died previously.

Surviving are two sons, Lorne Wintermute of St. Thomas, and Huron Wintermute of Belmont; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Elva) Robinson of Union, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A son, Jack Ellis Wintermute, a sister Mrs. Elva Birce and a brother, Otto Wintermute, all died previously.

Resting at the L. Laird Logan Funeral Home, Dorchester, for funeral service in the Chapel, Thursday, Oct 10, at 2 p.m., Rev. Carlye Husser of Belmont, officiating.

Interment in Dorcester Union Cemetery. Masonic memorial service conducted by Belmont Lodge No. 190, to be held this evening at the funeral home.

Born in Mapleton, the daughter of Webb and Elva Chivers Cloes of Belmont, she had lived all her life in this district. She was a member of Grace United Church, a member of Maple Leaf Chapter, O.E.S. and of the White Shrine.

She is survived by her husband, Roy E. Wintermute, two sons, Huron E. of Belmont and Lorne A. of Glenworth, and a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Elve) Robinson of 21 Oakview Crescent, Union as well as five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are tow brothers Vane M Cloes of Mansfield, Ohio. and Murray G. Cloes of Hanover, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A son, Ellis, and a brother Basil (Pat) Cloes of Tillosnburg died previously.

Resting at the Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday June 19 at 3 p.m. with Rev. C. Mac Kay of Grace United Church officiating. Interment in Dorchester Union Cemetery.
