Ada Kilmer, 88, of Madelia, died Thursday, January 27, 2000 at the Madelia Community Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Madelia United Methodist Church in Madelia. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by sons, Daryl and wife Donna of Madelia, Royce and wife Pat of Mankato, Arlo and wife Pam of Marietta, Ga. and Larrys and wife Linda of Hanska; daughter, Cheryl and husband Dennis Wilde of Fulda; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Meda Johnson of Mankato and Marjorie Johnson of Lake Crystal; sister-in-law, Ellcen Johnson of Madelia.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; son, Burton; sisters, Ona Lynch Campbell and Effie Campbell; and brother, Lyle Rollings.
She was born July 10, 1911 in rural Madelia to George and Bessie (Borton) Rollings, where she grew up and attended rural schools. She married Dewey Kilmer Feb. 14, 1931 at the Madelia Methodist Church parsonage. They farmed in rural Madelia until 1963 when they retired, and moved into town. She was a homemaker and also did upholstery work for about 12 years. She was a member of the Madelial United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid.
