HASLIP, Robert Joseph - Peacefully at Bluewater Health Palliative Care, Sarnia on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, Robert Haslip, 83 years, of Sarnia. Beloved husband (62 years in May) of Lenore Haslip (nee Paterson). Bob was a loving father to Brenda Haslip, Beverley Webb and her husband Robert, Denise Cook and her husband Ross and Robert Haslip and his wife Bonnie. Cherished grandfather of Tom Haslip (Cindy Painter), Craig Webb, Carrie Webb Coene (Chad), Matt Webb (Elayne), Christopher Cook (Jill Richie), Clinton Cook, Scott Haslip (Erica), Beth George (Kyle) and Grant Haslip. Dear great grandfather to Wade Loxton, Brianne Croucher, Aaron Coene, Elle Coene, Maddison Haslip and Nathan Haslip. Brother of Christine Hill and brother-in-law of Jeanne Haslip. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Harold Haslip and mother Dee (nee Dennis), infant daughter Rosemary, sister Mary Zink and brother John Haslip. Bob was a proud Navy Vet who served his country during WWII and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association. He was retired as a process operator from Imperial Oil after many years of service. Bob was a true family man and during his last days, he was surrounded by the many members of his family who loved him immensely. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, May 2, 2008, in the afternoon and evening from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to Bluewater Health Palliative Care or St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia Lambton.
