Deborah Lynne Goddard passed away Friday, July 31 in Oxnard, surrounded by her family. She was 54. Debbie was born in Oakland, CA on October 19, 1954. She spent her early childhood stationed at Naval bases in Hawaii and Japan. She settled in Oxnard in 1962.
Debbie attended Sunkist Elementary, E.O. Green Jr. High, and graduated from Hueneme High School in 1972. Later, she returned to each one as a volunteer when her children attended the same schools. Debbie worked for her father at both Ace Auto Salvage and Image Systems through the early 90s. She managed the Student Store at Hueneme High School from 1999 thru 2005.
She was a familiar face at Ventura Raceway for over a decade, working in the Pit Office. She also held countless PTA Treasurer and PTA Auditor positions between 1987 and 2005.
Throughout her life as a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, wife and friend, Debbie gave of herself unconditionally. As her children became adults, her life revolved around spoiling her grandchildren. Always a person who set goals, Debbie fought her late stage cancer so she could meet her first granddaughter, born this May.
Debbie joins her father Franklin Driscoll in heaven. She is survived by her husband Alan Goddard; her mother, Barbara Driscoll; her daughter and son-in-law Amber and Adam Moise; her son Jeffrey Goddard and his girlfriend Ashley Utts; and her grandchildren, Cameron Adam, Peyton Ian and Teagan Deborah Moise. She also leaves behind a large extended family and many close friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7 in the Chapel of the Hills at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park. Debbie will be laid to rest next to her father. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local schools Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Assisting the family with arrangements is Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Rd., Camarillo, CA 93012, (805) 482-1959.

John C. Hoover was born about 1839 in Germany. He and
Mary Cole Wintermote were married about 1866 in Darke County, Ohio. He died on 24 December 1869.
The parents of our subject were John C. and Mary (Wintermote) Hoover; the father a native of Germany and the mother of New Jersey; the former, who was a farmer throgh the years of his business activity, was a soldier in the civil war, havingbeen a member of the Fortieth Ohio Volunteer Infantry; he returned from the service shattered in health, and as a result died at the early age of thirty, December 24 1867, leaving two children. John C Hoover5 was his wife's second husband; her first husband was Ferdinand Hoover, By whom she had two children.

Charles George Hoover was a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He was educated in Indiana Dental School -Indianapolis, Indiana. Born of the above parents in Greenville, Ohio, on the 23d of April 1867, was Charles G. Hoover. He was reared in his native state and aquired his preliminary education in the public schools of the vicinity and of Yellow Springs, Ohio, also gaining much of the strength necessary for his life work on his father's farm. having decided to study dentistry he attended The Indiana Dental School at Indianapolis and in 1891 received his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. For two years following his graduation he worked in a dental office at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and in 1893 came to Albia and Established an office, where he has ever since continued with success that has been gratifying to himself and friends.

Professional career started with National Aniline and Chemical Company, f irst at Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, and subsequently at Buffalo, New York from 1921-1925. Engaged as a research chemist in the department of dyestuffs and intermediates. Employed next by Miner Labs of Chicago, Il linois, from 1926-1934 as a senior fellow. This work concerned the interests of Glycerine Producers Association and involved research on glycerine and its derivatives. Plant Manager of the Indiana Wood Preserving Company at Terre Haute, IN from 1934-36. In 1936, he joined Commercial Solvents Corporation in Terre Haute, Indiana as a research chemist. In 1940 appointed Manager of Research and Development, and in 1943 elected Vice President in Charge of Research and Development. Important assignements during his tenure were the commercialization of nitroparaffins, development of vitamins such as riboflavin (B2), the development of penicillin, streptomycin, bacitracin, and other antibiotics. Joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company October 24, 1950, as director of research. Became member of board of directors 1953.
Served as a lieutenant of infantry in World War I. Was a member of the Penicillin Industry Advisory Committee and the Milk Sugar Industry Advisory Committee under the War Production Board in World War II.
Member American Chemical Society, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Fellow American Institute of Chemists, Fellow American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, New York Academy of Sciences.

An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on October 1, 1931 for Dr. John Lewis* Hoover states that he had died at his home in Shelbyv ille, Saturday [September 26, 1931]. Dr. Hoover was born in Greenville, Ohio, March 18, 1869. He had graduated from the dental department at Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1894. After practicing in Little Rock, Ark., he came to Shelbyville in 1896 and had remained there since. He married Miss Rella Welsh, October 24, 2900. Surviving besides his wife were two daughters and a son; Miss Ione Hoover, Miss Jane Hoover and Welsh Hoover. There were also two brothers, Dr. Charles Hoover of Milwaukee, Wis., and Dr. W. A . Hoover of Gibson City, Illinois.

She was married May 6, 1922, in Uniontown, to Kenneth Hoover, who died in 1977.
Surviving are a daughter Helen Camblin of Three Rivers, MI; one son, Charles J. Hoover of West Lafayette; and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Connally of Deland, FL, and Mrs. Mary Ruth Yoder of Toms River, NJ.
The body will be taken to Winston Salem for service and burial.
