HOLLAND, DIXON HENRY, JR. "DICK", born Dec. 25, 1925 in Grove, Oklahoma passed away Monday, August 2, 2004 surrounded by his loving family.

Prior to graduating from Muskogee Central High he entered the U.S. Navy in March, 1943 serving as Gunner's Mate 3rd Class in both the European and Pacific theatres being honorably discharged in November, 1945. Upon receiving his diploma he attended college in Tahlequah and Muskogee, OK. He was employed by the Commercial Finance Company in Muskogee. The company transferred Dick and his family to Dallas in 1957. His career transitioned to banking with the Exchange Bank, Dallas and then on to long-term community banking positions as President of the Richardson Heights Bank & Trust and the Chisholm National Bank, Plano. His "post-retirement" career has been spent in the area of business development with the Canyon Creek National and First Bank of Canyon Creek. First United Methodist Church Richardson has been his church home for over forty years having actively served on various committees and Boy Scouts. Dick was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and travel as well as most anything that took him outdoors. His wit and sense of humor are legendary. The smiles and laughter he brought to all he touched will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Holland; son Rick Holland and wife Ruth of Dallas; son Bill Holland of Ketchum, OK; daughter Peggy Allan and husband Rob of Katy, TX; grandchildren Bill Allan, Bryan Allan, Robyn Allan, Brent Holland, Lindsay Holland and George Holland; great- granddaughter Caitlyn Allan; children by marriage Janet Hess and Susan Henderson, her husband Hank Henderson and their children Mitchell and Mark, all of Plano.

Memorial celebration 2pm, Friday, Aug.6, 2004 at First United Methodist Church Richardson, Rev. Clayton Oliphint presiding. Family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00pm Thursday, Aug. 5 at Sparkman-Richardson funeral home. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family requests donations be made in Dick's honor to the FUMC Richardson Building Fund, PO Box 830877, Richardson, TX 75083.
