Roger was born on November 11, 1948 in Independence, Iowa the son of Roger and Phyllis Fox, Sr. He was a 1966 graduate of the Independence High School and he served with the US Air Force, and the Iowa National Guard. On July 6, 1973, he was married to Susan Cornwell in Galena, IL. The couple resided in the Fredericksburg, Oelwein, and Hazelton, Iowa area prior to settling in Independence, IA.

Roger was a dedicated Truck Driver, who loved his job and co-workers with Figgenbaum Trucking, Tripoli, IA.

He is survived by his wife Susan Fox, Independence, IA, two daughters; Shannon (James) Reid, Cedar Rapids, IA, Caren (Shane) See, Waterloo, IA, three grandchildren, a step-granddaughter, a step great grandson, and a sister; Christina Masters of Colorado.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Friday, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence with Dr. David Larson, officiating. Friends may call from 12 Noon till services Friday at the funeral home.

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa -- Vernon D. "Bud" Hall, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at White Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence.

He was born on April 9, 1927, in Independence, son of Evan Lorraine and Gladys Marie (Hall) Hall. During World War II, Vernon served in the Navy.

He married Margaret Lucille Cornwell on April 26, 1947, in Independence.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lucille; two daughters, Margaret "Peg" Weber, of Weki Wachee, Fla., and Cindy (Michael) Dunn, of Cedar Rapids; a son, Timothy (Sheila) Hall, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Bellmer, of Oelwein, and Linda (Ed) Short, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and a brother, "Skip" (Marsha) Hall, of Guttenberg.

He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon "Buddy" Hall Jr.
