Earl A. Weitnauer was born on 21 June 1931 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa.1 He died on 10 November 2011, at age 80, in Quincy, Adams, Illinois.1 He was buried in Akers Chapel Cemetery, Hull, Pike, Illinois.1
Mr. Earl A. Weitnauer, 80, of Quincy, died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday (November 10, 2011) in the Sycamore Health Care Center.

Born June 21, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa, Earl was the son of Earl and Lilly E. Cornwell Weitnauer. He was raised in the home of his mother and step father, Lilly and Jack Levi. He married Mary Spillman McDowell on February 6, 1971 in Ewing, Missouri. She survives.

An avid fisherman and sportsman, Earl enjoyed bowling, playing cards and shooting pool. Earl also loved woodworking and will be remembered for the many pieces of furniture he made.

Mr. Weitnauer was employed for many years at Packaging Corp. and later for Moorman Manufacturing until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, John Weitnauer (Jill) of Quincy; three daughters, Kathy Coggeshall, Karen Coulter (Duff) of Mendon and Alycia Wittler (Bruce) of Quincy; a step son, Donald McDowell (Cindy) of Taylor, MO; three step daughters, Jodi Pryor (Terry) of Hannibal, MO, Jean Kindhart of Quincy and Mary Shaw of Rutledge, MO; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother in law, Robert Spillman; a sister in law, Lucy Schutte (Eugene); and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Weitnauer was preceded in death by his parents; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday morning at 11:30 in Akers Chapel Cemetery near Plainville. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.

Daughter of James Hunt and Bulah Eubank.
