LaFuan Humphreys passed away on March 17th, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was born the daughter of TB and Nettie Edwards of Lubbock, Texas on April 14, 1934.Her contributions and dedication to educating high school and junior high children were unsurpassed. She was an award-winning teacher. She spent 36 years as an educator at both Lubbock High School and Evans Junior High in Lubbock, Texas and Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She and her late husband, Ted Humphreys, were known for their wonderful sense of humor and their extraordinary dancing skills, including being West Coast Swing dance champions.
LaFuan joins her husband, Ted Humphreys, who passed away in 1999 and her infant son, Troy Allen Humphreys. A younger sister, Mary Bearden of Lubbock, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Lori Humphreys, age 55; her son, Ted Humphreys, age 50; and three grandchildren, Jacob Humphreys, Garrett Humphreys and Noelle Humphreys. She is also survived by two brothers, William Troy Edwards of Illinois and Charles Richard Edwards of Indiana.

Mary Louise Bearden, 72, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home. A celebration of Mary's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Smallwood officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mary was born March 14, 1941 to TB and Jeanette Edwards in Lubbock, TX.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Cynthia Bearden.
Survivors include her two sons; Glenn Bearden and wife Joni, Kevin Bearden and wife Sheri; daughter/granddaughter Adriana Bearden; grandchildren Kylie Bearden, Kadra Bearden; sister LaFaun Humphreys; brothers Billy Troy Edwards, Richard Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harlan F. Bearden, 78, of Lubbock passed away early Thursday morning, Nov. 21, 2013. A chapel service will be held at 10 a.m. at Sanders Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 with interment following at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Harlan was born Aug. 21, 1936 to Una and George Bearden. Harlan graduated from Lubbock High School in 1955 and attended Texas Tech afterwards. In 1958, Harlan joined the United States Marine Corps and held the rank of sergeant until the year 1964. Harland was employed by Sears Roebuck, Allstate Insurance, and then went to work for Farmers Insurance for over 30 years. After his retirement, Harlan worked at Enterprise Rental at Preston Smith Airport. Harlan enjoyed many aspects of his life. He was an assistant Scoutmaster for many years and in particular, he was a Tug of War coach which he was quite enthused about. Harlan enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing, sailing, and anything else that was considered outdoors including gardening.
Harlan was preceded by his parents, Una and George Bearden; and a sister, Dale Lewis.

Humphreys -- Ted Oran Humphreys passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 1999, in Albuquerque. Born in Chillicothe, Missouri on April 10, 1933, Ted was a Korean War Veteran, who met, fell in love, and married is bride of 44 years, LaFaun Humphreys.
He worked in the grocery business for 35 years before retiring. During those first 35 years, Ted and his wife had two children. Lori Humphreys Schultz, age 37, an Account Executive for New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, and Ted Oran Humphreys II, age 32, an employee for Pepsi Co. After a short retirement, Ted began a second career in the car sales industry. Ted retired a second time in 1996 and spent the rest of his days playing golf with his family, friends, and enjoying his two grandchildren, Jacob Oran Humphreys, age 7, and Garrett Kelly Humphreys, age 5.
He is survived by his mother, Cleo Hadley; brother, Gene Humphreys and wife, Bea; his sister, Cindy Fortune; and Nettie Edwards, his mother-in-law. Other family members he wanted recognized are Richard and Claudia Edwards, Mary Louise Bearden, Felicia Humphreys, Kenny Pierce and Jenny Humphreys.
