Services for Mildred McDermett
RALLS - Services for Mildred Walker McDermett, 77, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Emma Church of Christ in Ralls with Pete Mimms officiating and Billy Bob Wright and Mike McDermett officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002.
She was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Omaha and married Charles Perrin McDermett Jr. on June 20, 1943, in Crosbyton. She was a 1943 graduate of Ralls High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Taylor Street Church of Christ in Morton. They moved to Snyder in 1976 and was a member of East Side Church of Christ. She owned and operated Mildred´s, a ladies boutique, for 12 years. She retired, and they moved to Lubbock.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike of Austin and John Wayne of Fort Worth; a brother, Buddy Walker of Roswell, N.M.; a sister, Nancy Mize of Ralls; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 7606 University Suite C, Lubbock, TX 79423. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roberta (Robin) Caroyn Hay was born on 8 December 1943 in Hayward, Alameda, California. She died on 31 December 2006, at age 63, in Mexico. She was buried in Saint Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church Garden, Arlington, Tarrant, Texas.
Obituary
Funeral services for Roberta "Robin" Hay Edwards, formerly of Fostoria were held Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, in Arlington, Texas. Following cremation, Mrs. Edwards was buried in the beautiful Peace Garden beside the church.
Robin was born in California on Dec. 8, 1943, and died on December 31, 2006 following a heroic five-year battle with cancer.
She was a 1961 graduate of St. Wendelin High School and started her English teaching career after graduating from Bowling Green State University in 1965. She taught in several states before moving to Texas where she received a master's degree in social work. Robin became a caseworker and later a supervisor for the Texas Child Welfare Division in Amarillo, Texas. After moving to Ft. Worth, Texas, she became a counselor for the state working primarily with drug addiction cases. She moved on to a successful private counseling practice before ending her career back in the teaching field. She taught English for the past several years at the Meacham Middle School in Ft. Worth where she was an inspiration to her coworkers and students. Robin enjoyed traveling to Ohio, California and New Mexico to visit many family members and enjoyed cruising with her husband, Troy, in the Caribbean. Her favorite pastime activities were sewing, cross-stitching and entertaining the children of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Frederick Hay, who were also formerly of Fostoria, before relocating to Texas in the 1980s.
Survivors are her husband, Troy, of Mansfield, Texas; sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Spieldenner of Albion, Maine and Cheryl (Richard) O'Brien of Ennis, Texas; brothers, Frederick (Diann) Hay of Fostoria and James (Wendy) Hay of Waxahachie, Texas; an aunt, Betty Lou (Dale) Forbess and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Surviving stepchildren include Troy B. Edwards, Shannen Allen, adopted daughters Valary (Phillip) Friedberg and Melissa (Greg) Edwards Owen, two grandchildren.
Robin's inspirational journey through life has touched the hearts of many, especially those she loved the most, her family. A memorial service is being planned in Fostoria at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Wendelin Education Foundation in Robin's name.
