CANDOR - Leslie "Les" Wintermute, 73, a longtime resident of Candor, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, June 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Meddaugh Wintermute; their children and spouses, Jim and Linda, Bruce and Theresa, Joe and Anita, all of Candor, and Leslie and William Brown of Halsey Valley; one brother, Robert Wintermute, Mayfield, NY; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephew and cousins and brother and sisters-in-law. Les was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church of Candor. He retired from the former Spencer Ford Sales as a mechanic after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Candor American Legion and was a past member of the Candor Fire Department. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor. The Rev. Rob Abell, Pastor of his church, will officiate assisted by the Rev. Phil Jordan. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make contributions payable to "" and leave at the funeral home.
