She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hal Hackling, who died in 1974; and five older sisters: Helen Shupp of Tunkhannock, Katherine Pond of Meshoppen and Noxen, Genevieve Adams of Tunkhannock, Edna Williams of Bloomfield, N.J., and Bernetta DeWolfe of Williamsburg, Mass.
She was the beloved mother of one son, Jeffrey Robert Hackling, and his wife Tracy of Alpharetta, Ga.; and two daughters, Pauline Marie Gatzounas and her late husband George, of Chicopee, Mass., and Joy Anne Wordell and her husband Nathaniel, of South Chatham, Mass. She was also the beloved "Grandma Millie" to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately called her "Aunt Booty."
Millie served as a Wave in the United States Navy during World War II. She was stationed in Washington, D.C. and worked in the communications department.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Deerfield Beach, Fla., for 41 years, serving on numerous committees and organizations.
Millie also worked as a receptionist in a doctor's clinic for 14 years in Pompano Beach, Fla.
The memorial service and interment to be at the Memorial Gardens at Zion Lutheran Church in Deerfield Beach, Fla., at the convenience of the family. -.
