Jeannine R. Wintermute
Jeannine R. Wintermute, age 84, passed away September 26, 2018 at the A lpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Little Falls New York, surrounded by her children. She was born on December 13, 1933 near Paris, France to John and Gilbert Denfert.
She was raised on a small farm, which included the period of the French occupation during WWII, as an only child, by her parents and grandparents. She met and married William C. Wintermute, an American Army Sergeant stationed in Fontainebleau, France, in 1962 and spent the early years of their marriage in France. Upon his discharge from the Army they moved, with their children, to the Candor, Spencer, and Van Etten area. Jeannine worked for the Spencer-Van Etten Central School District, starting in 1972 for over 43 years, teaching and touching over 3 generations of students at SV-E. She worked in a variety of capacities; first as a French teacher, but additionally as a library aide, reading teacher, but primarily as a special education aide starting in the high school and later i n the primary grades. She ended her illustrious tenure at SV-E, returning post retirement, in her late 70's, to work as a playground aide at Van Etten Elementary School. Jeannine had a passion for God and for serving others; first her family but also her community, church, neighbors or anyone she felt had a need. She took meticulous and loving care of he rageing mother, in her home, until her passing at age 93. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels in her 60's and 70's providing food to home bound individuals, and she was an active member of the Spencer Presbyterian Church for many years. She served all those around her with a tireless, energetic passion filled with warmth, wit and an infectious sense of humor.
She is survived by three of her children, Brigitte (Jim), Chris (Becca) , Glen (Sherry) and her 15 grandchildren.
Her family invites friends and relatives to join them at the Allen-Manz er Funeral Home, 56 N. Main Street, Spencer, New York on Tuesday, October 2nd to celebrate her memory at 10:00 AM for calling hours. A short service will follow at 11:00 AM and she will be laid to rest at the Spencer Cemetery post service.

Mrs. Janet Alyce Mureness 62 of Apt 11 Old Meadow Road St. Johnsville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday November 25th, 2008 at her residence of natural causes. She was born on February 13, 1946 in the Town of Palatine, the daughter of the late Charles and Leta (Johnson) Gallt and was educated in St. Johnsville Schools.
Janet was employed by the former Little Falls Footwear Company prior to its’ closing. It was evident to all her knew her that her family always came first, whether it was baby sitting for her grandchildren or helping her children in anyway that she could. Besides her family she enjoyed collecting “Teddy Bears”.
She is survived by her Children; A Son Corbett Mureness of South Carolina, her daughters Tammy and her husband Matt Capano of Gloversville, Amy Wintermute and her companion Shane Chamberlin of Mayfield, Tanya Wintermute of St. Johnsville, Her Brothers Charles Gallt of Lassesville, Barry Gallt of Mindenville, Wayne Gallt of Oppenheim, her Sisters Joan Nagle of Ft. Plain, Carolyn Hulbert of Mindenville, and Gale Polidori of S t. Johnsville, Eight Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter, several Nieces and Nephews.
She was predeceased by a Brother Lester in 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 29th, 2008 at 11 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home 9 Center Street St. Johnsville. Hans Drews of St. Johnsville will officiate. Burial will follow in Freysbush Cemetery. Calling hours are on Saturday morning from 10AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Janet may be remembered by a donation to the Am erican Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
