John Joseph Gainor was born on 16 August 1895 in Newark, Licking, Ohio.1,2,3 He was born about 1896 in Illinois.1 He and Bernice Ione Wintermute were married on 12 March 1918 in Licking County, Ohio, St. Francis Rectory.1 He died on 28 July 1954, at age 58, in Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas, Ohio.2 He was buried in West Lawn Cemetery, Shady Bend, Coshocton, Ohio.24
John Joseph Gainor was a Produce Clerk.1 John J. Gainor, 58, owner of the Newcomerstown Produce Co. for 35 years, died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Wednesday at his home 241 North College St. Newscomerstown.

Mr. Gainor was painting his home when he became ill. He went into the house,, called a physician and died within the next few minutes. Death was due to coronary thrombosis.

Born in Newark Aug 16, 1895, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Murphy Gainor. He was married March 12, 1918, to Bernice Wintermute, who died March 27, 1952.

Mr. Gainor was a member of St. Francis de Sales church in Newcomerstown, a trustee of the lodge and past exalted ruler of the Newcomerstown lodge. He was a veteran of World War l, past commnader of Thomas C. Montgomery Post, American Legion, a charter member of Newscomerstown Rotary, former member of the Cy Young park board and was very active in civic affairs.

Survivng are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Thompson of Dayton, Mrs. Jesse Richmond of Euclid and Mrs. Robert Deeslie of Maple Heights; two sons, John J. Jr. of Columbus and Thomas Richard in the navy, nine grandchildren. A daughter and two sisters are deceased.

One grandchild was born at 2 a.m. today in Guernsey Memorial hospital, Cambridge, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gainor.

Friends may call at the Hinds funeral home in Newscomberstown from 7 tp 9 p.m. today and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..

SUZANNE DEESLIE PIERCE, 77, of Navasota, died Saturday March 16, at the College Station Medical Center. She was born Nov. 4, 1924 in Newark, Ohio and had been a resident of Navasota since 1971. An interior decorator/buyer, she considered her true profession in life as being a mother. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Robert William Deeslie and their son, William David Deeslie, along with her second husband, G. Shaeffer Pierce. Pierce was an active member of Christ Our Light Catholic Church and was a founding volunteer of the Navasota Food Bank, now the Christian Community Center. Survivors include 5 children, Robert Michael Deeslie and wife Mary of Newark, OH, Susan Jane Deeslie, Thomas Allen Deeslie, Ann Louise Schroeder and husband Wil, all of Houston and Peggy M. Arrington and husband Ernie of Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Deeslie of Navasota; a sister Peggy Richmond of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Thomas Gainor of Cincinnati, OH; 8 grandchildren, Jonathan Deeslie, G. Robert Deeslie, Brad D. Schroeder, Robin Deeslie, Michelle Deeslie, Janie Deeslie, Kara Arrington and Chad Arrington; 3 great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to step-grandson Joe King Fultz and his wife Monica and their daughter Juliet. A parish rosary and vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Our Light Catholic Church in Navasota with Rev. Paul G. Felix as the celebrant. The rite of committal will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
