Virginia May Whitcomb was a Realtor-Lifetime Realty. A Funeral Mass for Virginia M. (Whitcomb) Getler, age 89, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Please meet at the church.

Mrs. Getler died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Hospice House in Cleveland.

She was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Detroit.

She was a gourmet chef who loved to cook, travel, read and spend time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor. She belonged to the seniors group at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, St. John Vianney Church, and Mentor Senior Citizens.

Virginia retired as a self-employed realtor for Lifetime Realty in Willowick.

Survivors Include her daughters, Karen Dyckes of Parker, Colo. and Susan (Dwight) Bowden of Austinburg; grandchildren, Jamie (Meg) Dyckes, Shannon (Dale) Abler, Jason (Rachel) Bowden, Matthew (Jessica) Bowden and Adam (Kerri) Bowden; nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Mackenna, Brady, Alyssa, Kylie, Carson, Elliott, Reagan and Camden; and brother, Robert (Rita) Whitcomb of Englewood, Fla. She is adored by her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Getler; son, Jack Getler; parents, Guy and Margaret Whitcomb; sisters, June McCormack and Marge Shaughnessy; brothers, William and Jack Whitcomb; and companion, John Antonelli.

Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
