DRAPER - Ronald Louder, 69, Draper, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. Ronald Dale Louder was born July 9, 1940, in Pierre to Luverne and Eva (Strickler) Louder. Ron lived on the farm northeast of Draper until the age of 6, when the family moved to town so Ron could attend school.He graduated from Draper High School in 1958 as Valedictorian of his class.He attended college and graduated in 1962 from SDSC (SDSU). After graduating, he moved to Casper, Wyo., and began working for the Bureau of Land Management as a Range Management Specialist. In 1964, he met Virginia L. Wolcott and they were united in marriage on April 17, 1965. In September 1966, their first daughter, Carma, was born.May 1968 found them moving back to Draper, to farm with Luverne and Eva.In January 1971, a second daughter, Tawnya, was born, followed by a son, Alan,in 1973. Ron was active on the Jones County board of Supervisors of the NRCS (SCS) for nearly 40 years.He served on the Draper School Board during the consolidation with Murdo. He also served on the Board of the Draper Methodist Church for a time. He loved spending his time with his family and traveling. He loved the land, his horses and collecting western memorabilia, especially saddles.His family knew him as a great manof honesty and integrity.He was always eager to offer his help and support to his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Ron is survived by his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Carma Miller (Greg), and Tawnya Louder-Reynolds (Scott); one son, Alan (Jane) Louder; six grandsons, Eric, Christopher (Katie) and Scott Nix, Conner Reynolds, and Sean and Caden Louder;one great-granddaughter, Molly Marie Nix; two sisters, Shirley Wood and Yvonne Laur (Roxy); his mother Eva Louder; one nephew, Aaron (Laurie & Reese) Laur; and one niece, Christina Laur. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Luverne Louder and an infant son. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST Friday, Nov. 20, at the Murdo United Methodist Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the church, with burial at the Draper Cemetery. Isburg Funeral Chapel of Pierre has been placed in care of the arrangements.
