Lida May Stoffels, 92, formerly of Blairstown, NJ passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 in Trenton, NJ. Born: Born in Blairstown to the late Verner and Verna Newman Titman, she had been a resident of the Town until five years ago. Mrs. Stoffels was the former treasurer and tax collector, for many years, for the town of Blairstown. Memberships: She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Blairstown, a former member of United Methodist Womens Club, Blairstown Rotary Anns Club, Blairstown American Legion Givens Belet Post 258 Auxiliary and the former Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors: Her daughter Barbara Stoffels of Trenton; four grandchildren: Lea Blanco of Millstone, NJ, Lorrie Schoemer of Blairstown, Peter and Jason Stoffels, both of Illinois; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Victor in 1995, and earlier by a son David. Services: Funeral services will be held 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ; with visiting hours also on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials: Memorial donations, in memory of Lida, may be made to Newton Medical Center Auxiliary, 175 High Street, Newton, NJ 07860.
