Alvaretta (Loretta) Caroline Cooke was born on 19 October 1852 in Frelinghuysen Township, Warren, New Jersey.1 She and Robert Stanley Heir were married on 2 November 1878 in Hope, Warren, New Jersey.1 She died on 7 January 1938, at age 85, in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cremated.1 She was buried on 10 January 1938 in Chelten Hills, Phildelphia County, Pennsylvania.2
Alvaretta (Loretta) Caroline Cooke was educated in Wyoming Seminary-Kingston, Pennsylvania.1 Alvaretta Cook Hair declared she was a widow in the 1910 Pennsylvania Census. She was living with her daughter and husband, Charles and Bessie Hair Wardell.

Retta Cooke (or Cook) was the daughter of Sarah Maria Read and Andrew Teel Cooke. As a young child, she and her mother lived with her maternal grandparents Aaron and Hannah (Brands) Read in Hope Township, Warren County, New Jersey. Her brother James lived with their paternal grandparents, Ira and Elizabeth (Teel) Cooke in Warren County, New Jersey. By the time she was in her late teens, her parents had reunited and she and her brother James lived with them in Hope Township. In about 1878, she married Robert Stanley Heir (1852-1925). The couple moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, where their only child Bessie Heir Cooke was born. The family moved to Buffalo, New York by 1900. After Bessie married Charles Wardell in 1902, Alveretta moved in with her in her home in Philadelphia. She is listed in the 1910 and 1920 census as a widow, but her husband Robert was still alive. He lived in Manhatten in 1920. She lived with Bessie in Philadelphia until her death, which occurred sometime between 1935 and 1940.

Her father was born in England and her mother in Warren County, New Jersey. Bessie was born in Minnesota, but by 1900 she lived in Buffalo, New York with her parents, where she was employed as a school teacher. She married Charles Wardell on 29 October 1902 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the couple settle in Philadelphia. Her mother lived with them from at least 1910 until her death in 1935. Her father died in 1925 but did not live with the couple. Charles died in 1950, his ashes are buried in West Laurel Hill, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Bessie died 8 years later. At the time of her death she lived at the House of Rest, 5919 Wayne Ave in (Germantown) Philadelphia; that address is still (2015) senior housing. According to her death certificate the cause of death was cardiac tamponade. She was cremated and the ashes were buried 1 July 1958.

According to his death certificate, Charles died due to Cerebral Thrombosis. His remains were cremated and buried on 17 February 1950. He immigrated in 1892.2 He was naturalized in 1892.2

Mrs. Anna Mary Frisbie, 77, of 720 Saginaw St., died Friday night in the Taylor Nursiing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor.

Born in Blairstown, N.J., daughter of the late Herbert and Rachel Beegle Cook, she was a member of Elm Pak United Methopdist Church and a1930 graduate of Scranton High School.

Surviving are a son Jack Frisbie, Washington D.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Rodgers, Pomona, Calif.; Mrs. Nancy Lucke, Taylor; and Mrs. Donna Pica, Sarasota, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Miller Dean Funeral Home, 436 Cedar St., with services by the Rev. Judith Wanck, Associate pastor, Elm Park United Methodist Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Viewing, for family members only, today, 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 500 W. Hospital St., Taylor 18517.

Born in Lutz, Poland, Mrs. Cooke lived in Warren County for most of her life before moving here 14 years ago.

She is survived by five sons, James of Washington, Walter S. and William, both of California, and Daniel and Henry P., both here; two daughters, Patricia Ann Snyder of Albuquerque, N.M., and Martha DeHart of Changewater; three brothers, Theodore of Port Murray, Charles of Washington and Max Pladek of Kearny; two sisters, Martha Mohr of Ewing Township and Anna Belstra of Lancaster, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons; Bill DeHart Jr. and wife Allyson of Bowmanstown, PA, James DeHart of Easton, PA, Edward and wife Lisa DeHart of Changewater, NJ, Kenneth and wife Mary Sue of Sarasota, FL, two brothers; Walter Cooke of Canoga Park, CA, and Daniel Cooke of Stroudsburg, PA and a sister Patricia Trombley of Albuquerque, NM, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.She is predeceased by a brother; William Cooke.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc. has been entrusted with her arrangements.
