Ethel Jane Aydt, 95, of Dahlgren died at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 1997, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Aydt was born on September 3, 1901, in Hamilton County, a daughter of John and Flora Belle (Snover) Kelley. She married John William Aydt on June 22, 1922, in St. Louis. She was a housewife and worked for several years in a St. Louis, Missouri shoe factory. She was a member of Belle Prairie Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Crouch Cemetery in Belle Prairie.

Mrs. Aydt is survived by two twin sisters, Irene Fulk of Lockport, Illinois, and Lorene Weldin of New Lenox, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Glen Kelley, Frank Kelley, Alvie Kelley and Charles Kelley; two sisters, Nellie Askew and Florence Ryherd; and her twin sister, Flossie Bond.

William G. Ryherd, 83, of Sullivan, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at St.Mary's Hospital in Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the McMullin Funeral Home in Sullivan with vistiation from 7 to 9 tonight (Monday). Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.

Born April 10, 1900 in Gamaliel, Ky., he was a son of Ulysses S. and Mary Eliza Ford Ryherd. He was a retired building contractor and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan. He married Florence E. Kelley March 30, 1924 in Sullivan, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Glenn E. of Sullivan and R. Duane of Champaign, daughters, Pauline Greenwalt and Linda Ebel, both of Oak Park, and Karen Krebs of Mattoon; a sister, Nancy Morford of Sullivan; 18 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

One son and two brothers preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorials be to the donor's choice.

Joseph Louis (Lewis) Askew was a Secretary-Treasurer Order of Railroad Telegraphers.4 Joseph L. ASKEW, 73, White Bear Lake, was killed when he apparently walked into the side of a moving car, authorities said.

Authorities said Askew was trying to cross McKnight Road near Lilac Lane in this St. Paul suburb Wednesday night when he walked into a northbound car. they said he may have been hit by two other cars while lying in the road.

The Minnesota traffic toll for the year rose to 814 compared with 791 through the same date one year ago.
