Her husband of 49 years, James E. Sandt Sr. died on Aug. 3, 1997. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1944. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Easton Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.She was employed as a RN at Easton Hospital, the former Presbyterian Home of Belvidere and the offices of Dr. Neumann Marlett and Dr. M.G. Reddy in Belvidere before retiring in 1992. She was an avid RV'er with her husband, and enjoyed playing piano and singing and had played for the choir of Belvidere United Methodist Church for several years.

Jean's memberships include a lifelong membership of Belvidere United Methodist Church, Coachmen Caravan EZ-Goers Chapter; and the Easton Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Surviving are two sons, James Jr. and his wife Susan of Spring, TX and Randall of Belvidere; a brother, Willard Snover and his wife Shirley of Belvidere; three grandchildren, Christopher, Joanne and Justin.

A funeral service was held at MacFadden Funeral Home in Belvidere. Interment followed in the Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere.
