Occupation: One of the first jobs was working as a painter and wallpaper hanger followed by employment for the Examiner Newpaper as a bookkeeper and collections agent. He secured a job with Bank of America prior to WWII, when he resigned and worked for North American to help the war effort. He was not eligible for the draft due to flat feet. After the war he resigned and returned to Bank of America where he became an Assistant Vice President working in the loan adjustment department until his retirement in 1978. After retirement he went to work to Sanwa Bank until his hearing became so bad that he had to stop working.
George, known as Roy to most people, came to California with his parents in 1923 and lived in Los Angeles county the rest his life.
Favorite things: Roy liked to work on cars. He would listen to the way they ran and know what was wrong and how to fix it. Those most have been the good old day of do-it-yourself. Roy and wife Betty could often be found square dancing, attending church and visiting their grandsons.

Gerald H. Reeves, 65, of 240 Brown Road died Monday at his home after along illness.

A native of Genoa, Mr. Reeves lived in Groton 20 years. He retired in 1980 after 13 years as a tool and die maker and machinist with Cornell University.

Mr. Reeves was a member of West Groton-East Lansing Church and Lansing Lodge 774, F&AM. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, the former Virginia Mason; two daughters, Sylvia Scheffler and Gail Reeves, both of Groton; two sons, Dahrl of Dryden and Wayne of LaFayette; his mother, Alice Hahn Detzer of Locke; a sister , Marion Haring of Groton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zirbel Funeral Home, the Rev. John Terry officiating. Spring burial will be in East Venice Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 115 Williams St. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bessie M. Iacovelli, 56, of 720 Ridge Road, Lansing, died Saturday, Jan . 4, 1986, at Tompkins Community Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Genoa, a daughter of Alice Reeves Detzer of Locke and the late Clayton Reeves.

Mrs. Iacovelli Was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Albert R. Iacovelli of Lansing; three daughters, Luann Norman, Krista Tagliavento and Yvonne Sterling, all of Lansing; two sons, Raymond Ward of San Antonio, Texas, and Randall Ward of Genoa; a sister, Marion Haring of Groton ; two brothers, Charles Reeves of Genoa and Gerald Reeves of West Groton; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steven Charles Karlecke was born on 31 August 1922.² He died on 14 July 1993, at age 70, in Pompano Beach, Broward, Florida.²
