William Louis Seim, 86, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born November 5, 1927 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Clarence Seim and Irene Hindmand Seim.

He was raised and educated in the St. Louis area. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1950 with a BA degree in Business Administration and earned a Masters of Social Work from 1954-1956 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He married Joan Cook in 1967 in Lincoln, Illinois. William worked in Central Illinois as a Social Worker for over 35 years. They moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1993.

He enjoyed biking, hiking, golf and served as an officer in several groups. He was an active member of MENSA wherever he lived.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and in 1998 his wife, Joan.

He is survived by a step-son, Loren Cook of St. Louis, Missouri; and two sisters, Jean Rogers of Rogersville, Missouri and Shirley Branco of St. Charles, Missouri.

A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas. Prior to this a visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, and interment follows at the Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista, Arkansas.
