Biography

Aaron Snover was born on 19 March 1828 in Frelinghuysen, Warrren, New Jersey.1 He and Susan Crissman were married on 9 February 1853 in Bruce Township, Macomb, Michigan.2 He died after 13 May 1910 in Turlock Township, Stanislaus, California.1,2 He was buried in Romeo Cemetery, Romeo, Macomb, Michigan.3
Aaron Snover was a Farmer.4 AARON SNOVER was born on 19 March 1828 in Independence, Warren, New Jersy. He died after 1910 at the age of 82 in Turlock, Stanislaus, California. Left Eaton Rapids, Michigan in 1879 and was in Stanislaus Co. California
In the 1859 Macomb County Atlas, Aaron is shown as owner of South East 1/4 of Section #16 and part of the North East 1/4 of Section 21 of Bruce Township. In 1860 census Aaron is shown as a farmer in Bruce Township
In 1860 census of Bruce Township, Jonas Crissman was living near his son-in-law Aaron and family as well as near William Snover in Bruce Township. His age was given as 74 born New Jersey, however he had no wife was listed. (Susan Snover Crissman had died 1857 but her husband
Jonas Crissman did not die until 1876. Both are buried Romeo Cemetery. Aaron was still likely in Bruce Township in 1867 when his wife Susan Crissman died.
By the time of the 1870 census, taken 4 August 1870, Aaron had moved to the City of
Eaton Rapids in Eaton County Michigan where he was a farmer with real estate worth $2000 and personal property worth $500.
This property, 77 acres in Section 2, Hamlin Township being part by that time of Eaton Rapids Eaton County was registered in the name of his father William H. Snover for whom Aaron had purchased it in 1868. This property is on the eastern outskirts of present day Eaton Rapids.
It is likely that William and Anna went to live with Aaron after their daughter's Sarah Jane Reynolds death in November 1874 at Holly. The property at Eaton Rapids was sold in 1879 by William H. Snover at which time William may have gone to Detroit to live with his other son
George W. Snover. He was certainly in Detroit by 1882.

As William was likely living with Aaron after the death of his wife Anna in 1876, it is likely that Aaron left the County at this time as no other property transactions involving him have been found in the Eaton County and no burials involving the Snovers (other than Anna and later William) in either the Rosehill Cemetery or the Oakwoods Cemetery in Eaton Rapids.
Parents: WILLIAM Howell SNOVER and Anna STIFF.
