Funeral Services Will Be Held Wednesday At First Presbyterian
Charles Colville Armour, 318 North Winnebago street, a grocer here for many years and a prominent member of the First Presbyterian church, died at 4 a. m. today at Rockford hospital after a three months illness. He had been critcally ill since the first of the year.
The son of Charles and Susan Jane Armour, he was born Jan. 30, 1863, in Argyle, and at the age of 11 moved to Rockford with his widowed mother. From 1894 to 1908 he lived in Little Rock, Ia., but except for that time had always made Rockford his home For twenty-four years he served as an elder of First Presbyterian church, and last Christmas the church presented the fourth generation of his family with the Yule candle in recognition of sixty years of continuous membership.
Surviving are the widow, the former Margaret Eva Bilsborough, whom he married on Sept. 12, 1888; three sons, Harvey B., of Des Moines, And Abner J. and Charles R. of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Payton H. Kaylor, of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, W. H. Armour, Rockford; an uncle, Daniel G. Harvey, also of this city, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First Presbyterian church, the Rev. W. H. Fulton officiating, and interment will take place in Willwood burial park.

He married the former Lovena Kline in Chicago Jan. 4, 1963. He was a school teacher and taught 42 years, retiring in 1957. He was principal of the Wight and Hallstrom schools for 26 years. Veteran of World War I serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the field artillery. Member of the First Presbyterian Church, Walter P. Craig Post of the American Legion, Greater Rockford Barracks No. 48, Veterans of World War I, and the National, llinois and Rockford Retired Teacher Associations. Graduated from Iowa State College School of Engineering. Survivors include: his widow, Lovena; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Noling, Westminster, Calif., and Mrs. Sally Roberts, New Canaan, Conn.; two sons, Charles R. Jr., Martinez, Calif., and James H. Armour, Rockford; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Abner J. Armour, Rockford; and one sister, Marguerite Kaylor, Kansas City, Kan.

ARMOUR - Abner J. Armour, 80, 707 Whippoorwill Lane, Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Rockford, died Friday, May 18, 1979, in Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boynton Beach, Fla. Born Feb. 12, 1899, in Rockford. Lived seven years in Florida, moving there from Rockford. He ws a retired civil engineer for Rockford Black Top Construction Co., and was former president of the Rockford Sanitary District. Member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors incude his wife, Geraldine; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Kaylor, Leawood, Kan.; three nephews, Jmes Armour and Robert Nowicki, both of Rockford, and Charles Armour, Pasadena, Calif.; and two nieces, Mrs. Sally Roberts, Stratford, Conn., and Mrs. Patricia Nowling, Costa Mesa, Calif.

Lived entire life in Rockford, married to Abner J. Armour in Rockford May 14, 1938. Employed as a secretary by Excelsior Leather Washer Co. for 20 years before her marriage. Member of St. Peter's Cathedral,
Catholic Women's League, Rockford Woman's Club, and the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Auxiliary. She also worked with the Catholic Salvage Bureau. Graduated from Rockford High School. Survivors include: her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph James and Mrs. Rose Nowicki, both of Rockford; and Mrs. Amelia Soper, Tacoma, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Dr. Louis Brunini, who died in 1966, and Joseph Brunini.

Services at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday in St. Peters Catheral, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas S. Green, pastor of St. Peter's Catherdral, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Friends may call at Burpee-Wood Funeral Home, 420 N. Main St., from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. The rosary wil be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may contribute to a memorial fund in name for Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
