Born Dec. 5, 1877, at Kingston, Ia., he later lived at Kossuth, where he attended Kossuth Academy. In 1900 he was married to Calllie V. Eckard and they moved to Burlington, where they resided for three years, and later to Iowa City, where they made their home until coming to Cedar Rapids 26 years ago.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frances Wilkins; two granddaughters, Patricia Ann and Marilyn Frances Wilkins, all of Duluth; and his mother, Mrs. Margarete Conley of Washington, Ia. A lover of the out-of-doors, he spent his leisure time in hunting and fishing. Mr Conley was a member of the First Christian church; Mount Hermon lodge, Iowa Consistory, the Travelers Protective association , of which he was president of the Iowa division from 1931 to 1933, and of the United Commercial Travelers.
Funeral services will be held in the Turner chapel at 11 a.m. Sunday. Friends may call at the chapel.
