Karl A. Snover of Fort Payne, Ala., formerly of Liberty Township and Phillipsburg, passed away March 18 in his home. Born in Stewartsville, N.J., he was a son of Mabel Gunderman Snover of Allentown and the late John Snover. He was a customer service representative for Elizabethtown Gas Co. for 32 years before retiring in 1995. 1 Patricia Ann Barton, 77, a former resident of the Canal Road, Houghton, passed away Monday evening, November 7, 2016, at Franklin House, PortagePointe, with family by her side.
She was born January 14, 1939, in Bay City, Michigan, a daughter of the late Ferris and Mabel (Fifield) Snover. On September 7, 1957, she was married to Gary Barton. He passed away July 12, 1978.
Pat was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and spending time on her beach with family. She was a wonderful baker and was famous for her bread and cookies she lovingly made and shared during the holidays and throughout the year. Pat loved her family dearly and caring for them brought her great joy.
Pat is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jacki Larkin of Shakopee, Minnesota, and her children, Bradon (Carly) Barton, Travis (Candi) Bolton, Danielle (Eric) Gilbertson, Kristi (Mike) Blomgren and Kyle Larkin; Pam (Tom) Beggs of Dollar Bay and their children, Jamey Vettori, Joe Vettori and Kellee Beggs; Dan (Pam) Barton of the Houghton Canal and their children, Ashley (Jake) Dunstan and Gary Barton; Jodi (Norm) Kommes of Chassell and their children, Desiree (Mike) Beutler, Deanna (Bob) O’Connell and Brent Kommes; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Pat was also preceded in death by three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandy and Cheryl.
Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at Franklin House and PortagePointe for the wonderful care given to their mother, and for loving her too.
Pat’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at the Oskar Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home of Hancock, Antila Funeral Service, Inc.

Lawrence was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Marquette, Mich., the son of Joseph and Amelia Reau. He was a graduate of Ferris State College, with a degree in accounting. He married Lois Hope Snover, who also had an accounting degree. They jointly owned a small accounting firm in Ludington, Mich.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors from childhood and continued to share this with his five children, spending many hours hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling with his family. In 1980, Lawrence moved to Madison where he met and married Esther Jensen. He continued to enjoy hunting, camping and added traveling the United States to his interests.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Reau; four children, Laura (Dale) Harley of Michigan, David (Marion) Reau of New York, Margret (Gordon) Danke of California and Virginia "Ginger" Reau of Michigan; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Kathy Jensen and Ralph Jensen; three stepgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Hope Reau; a son, Ronald; his parents; and all of his siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at LAKE VIEW LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4001 Mandrake Road.
The family sends a special thank you to the staff of Meriter and Capitol Lakes Health Care Center for the 10 years of caring service Larry received.
