Fern Snyder, 77, devoted mother, grandmother

Fern I. (Youse) Snyder, 77, widow of Robert D. Snyder, of Gilbertsville, formerly of Pottstown, died on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Pottstown, to the late Eli and Ruth (Stoudt) Youse. She was raised by her late stepfather Kenneth Landis.

Mrs. Snyder was a homemaker. When her children were grown she worked for her stepfather at Landis Research Farms in Sassamansville.

Fern was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Pottstown.

Surviving are four daughters, Peggy A. Kaas, wife of Richard of Bechtelsville, Joyce Bush, companion of Robert J. Koralewski of Gilbertsville, Jean L. Quaintance, wife of James A. of Boyertown, and Bonnie G. Rudzenski, wife of Thomas P. of Pottstown; one son, Robert H. Snyder, of Boyertown; one stepbrother Lee; and one stepsister Janet; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Morrell Funeral Home, 124 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
