Dorothy Rebecca Wilson, aged two weeks died at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer J. Wilson, and one sister, Nellie M. Wilson of 320 University Avenue. The funeral was held from the residence at 4 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. A.R. Lambert officiating. Interment was made in the City Cemetery.

Evelyn Wilson Monroe, formerly of Newark, Delaware, died November 25, 2011 at Cokesbury Village in Hockessin, Delaware at age 95. Mrs. Monroe was the widow of former Dupont employee, Elmer S. Monroe Jr. who died in 1985.
Descended from the pioneers who settled Seneca County, New York after the Revolutionary War. Mrs. Monroe was born in Itaca, New York in 1916. She graduated from Cornell University in 1939 and before her marriage wrote a shopper's column called "Betty be Smart" for the Ithaca Journal. She met her husband, then an assistant professor in Cornell's school of mechanical engineering, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where they were married in 1949.
Mr. Monroe went to work for Dupont in 1955 and the family moved to Newburgh, New York for 6 months and then to Newark, Delaware, where he worked at the Louviers Building. The family lived first in Brooklyn Park and then on Calgary Road in Newark.
Mrs. Monroe attended the Newark United Methodist Church where she participated in United Methodist Women Circle groups and Mrs. Wilson's Bible Class. She was also active in the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Cornell Women's Club and her college sorority, Sigma Kappa.
Surviving Mrs. Monroe are her four children. Elizabeth Dunn (Jack), her twins Melody Sterling (Bruce) and Cynthia Buck (Steven, and Thomas Monroe (Mary); as wll as eight grandchildren: Benjamin Buck, Amy Monroe, Joseph Buck (Aimee), Daniel Sterling (Jessica), Kimerbly Monroe, Robert Buck (Alicia), Aaron Sterling (Kirsty) and Jack Dunn V.; and one great-granddaughter, Anna Sterling. Services will be private.

She was a member of the Ulster United Methodist Church, Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association and United Methodist Women of the Ulster United Methodist Church. She received her teaching degree from Mansfield University. She worked in the Troy-area school system for 29 years. After her retirement from the school system, she worked with her husband at the Cornell University for 11 years until they both retired together. From that moment on they rejoiced in retirement together. Dorothy is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Al and Mata Wilkins of Horseheads, N.Y.; beloved grandchildren, Douglas and Karen Wilkins of Horseheads, N.Y. and Cynthia Dean of Lowman, N.Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Rudy Gallup of Ulster; sister-in-law, Isabelle Witt of Shelburne, Vt.; special niece and nephew, Donna (John) Linch of Lindenhurst, N.Y. and Kenneth Gallup of Ulster and three very special people, Kim Gallaher of Lowman, N.Y., Kiersten Cobb of Lowman, N.Y. and Earl Campbell of Orangevale, Calif.
