Biography
Northwood - Ruby Jane Logeman, 81 of Northwood, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A funeral service for Ruby will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Northwood Baptist Church, 902-2nd Ave. North, Northwood, with Reverend Robert W. Luebbert officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy 122 West, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. South, Northwood. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwood Baptist Church in her memory.
Ruby Jane Logeman was born on October 23, 1928, in Clear Lake, the daughter of Charles and Mattie (Pine) Pine. Ruby attended rural country school near Clear Lake and also attended Mason City Community Schools, and graduated from Mason City High School. She was united in marriage to Westly Logeman on June 1, 1947, at the Calvary Alliance Church in Mason City, and to this union four children were born. After their marriage they lived and farmed on various farms in the North Iowa area before moving into Northwood in the mid 1970’s.
Ruby loved and enjoyed music. Ruby learned how to play the piano by ear, and loved to play the organ, singing, and religious music. Ruby was a very loving and devoted mother; she also loved spending time with her family and friends, especially during the holidays.
She was a member and played the piano at the Northwood Baptist Church, former member of the ladies aide and organist at the United Methodist Church in Kensett.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Feddersen of Charles City, Betty (Claude) Matz of Vancouver, WA, Cindy (John) Dirks of Mason City, and Don (Martina) Logeman of Mason City; nine grandchildren, Chuck (Rebecca) Dirks of Las Cruses, NM, Carrie (Mike) Ruhde of Waterloo, Nathan Dirks and Special friend, Nicole Mikkelson of Minot, ND, Deb (Lamar) Alex of Sandy, OR, Heather (Jason) Norman of Vancouver, WA, Brad (Bobbi) Logeman of Kensett, and Travis, Mathew, and Michael Logeman of Mason City; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Alex, Emma and Dalton Logeman, and Andrew Dirks and Hannah Norman; three step-grandchildren, Katie, Hunter and Maddie Sue Combs; two sisters-in-law, Gerry Tammel of Spring Valley, MN, and Vivian Balek of Mason City; a brother-in-law; Clark Sweetser of Knoxville, TN; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Westly Logeman who died on February 25, 2007, two brothers and seven sisters.
