Death of Peter D. Clouser
Peter D. Clouser, aged 77, died at his home at 381 No. Washington St., yesterday afternoon of paralysis. He was born at Blandon, near Reading, on March 10, 1850, where he spent his boyhood days, and followed the shoemaking trade in his father's establishment. At the age of twenty-one years, he located at Nanticoke and later at Plymouth, and Forty Fort. In1889 he moved to Wilkes-Barre and has since resided here and surrounded himself with a large circle of staunch friends. He was a member of First M.E. Church many years. He is survived by his wife, who before marriage was Miss Sarah Elizabeth Fairchild of Alden, and the following children: Mrs. John Hargraves; Harry W.; George W.; Mrs. M. C. Healy, all of Wilkes-Barre; Elmer C., of Wilmington, DE; and Mrs. J. R. Frow, of Hampton, VA; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Hummer of Riverside, PA. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon, with services at the family home at 2:30, with Rev. Dr. Loen K. Willman officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery at Shavertown.

1 George W. Clouser, 75, of 91 New Alexander Street, City, died this morning at 5:15 in the Franklin Convalescent Home, Wilkes-Barre. He had been a guest since February. Born in Plymouth, April1, 1887, Mr. Clouser was a son of the late Peter and Sarah Fairchild Clouser. He resided in Forty Fort prior to moving to Wilkes-Barre 60 years ago. Before retiring, Mr. Clouser was employed by the Delaware and Hudson Railroad as a locomotive engineer for 54 years. He and his wife observed their 55th wedding anniversary on September 18. Mr. Clouser was a member of First Methodist Church and a life member of Landmark Lodge 442, F&AM. He belonged to Division 263, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary J. Gibson; sisters. Mrs. Mary Hargraves, Wilkes-Barre, and Mrs. Ellen Healy, Collingswood, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
Rites will be held at the Kniffen Funeral Home, 465 South Main Street Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Swales will officiate and interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Friday night, 7 to 9.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, 56, of 77 Carroll St., Pittston, died yesterday morning at Pittston Hospital where she was admitted five days before. She was the widow of James W. Hall. She was born in Forty Fort and spent part of her life in Wilkes-Barre. She moved to Pittston about 25 years ago. She wasa member of St. John the Evangilist Church, Pittston.
Surviving are nine children: Mrs. Joseph Allu, Rochester; Mrs. Joseph Goham, Pittston; Mrs. Clarence Seltzer, Douglassville; Mrs.Daniel Radcliffe, Columbus, OH; Rosemary, Theresa, Margaret, at home; John, Bound Brook, NJ; William, New York City; mother, Mrs. Mary Hargraves, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mrs. Francis Moran, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Julius Kozak, Kingston; five brothers, Franklin, John, George and Walter Hargraves, Wilkes-Barre; Richard Hargreaves, Pittston.
Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 from the funeral home, 18 Kennedy St., Pittston, with requiem mass at 9:30 in St. John's Church. Interment in parish cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.
