Ellen E. Kozak, 95, of Eley Street, Kingston, died Tuesday morning in the Community Hospice Care Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late John and Mary Clouser Hargraves. She was employed by Leslie Fay for many years. Mrs. Kozak was a member of Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; son, Anthony Kozak.

Surviving are sons, Edward (Connie) Davis, Aberdeen, Md.; Thomas (Mildred) Bidwick, Charlotte, N.C.; Julius (Marion) Kozak, Lehman Township; Walter Kozak, Kingston; daughter, Ellen (Frank) Buonemani, Marion, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 from Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. James Harring, minister of Pastoral Care at Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Friends may call Friday, 9 to time of service.

The deceased was born in Duyea, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hall, but the greater part of his life was lived in Pittston. He was employed at No. 9 Colliery, Hughestown for many years but more recently had been employed as a sexton at St. John's Church. He was a member of St. John's Church, the Holy Name Society and John D. Stark Post, American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Hargraves, and the following children; Mrs. Joseph Alu, Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Joseph Cohan, this city, Mrs. Clarence Seltzer, Reading; Mrs. Daniel Ratcliffe, Va.; and John, William, Rosemary, Theresa, Margaret, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Dominnick Moran, this city; Mrs. John Kettel, Phiadelphia, and Mrs. Mabel Moran, Duryea, and a brother, Leo Hall, this city.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from the Burns Funeral Home, 18 Kennedy St. A requeim high mass willl be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. John's Church. Burial, parish cemetery.

Joseph C.L. Goham, of Exeter, died December 8, 2008 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late John and Mary Waverka Goham. He attended St. Mary’s Assumption grade school and was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Mr. Goham was employed at American Chain and Cable, formerly of Exeter, and Nelson Furniture, formerly of West Wyoming.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, the former Barbara Hall; and his second wife, the former Betty Reilly; daughter Mary Brown; sisters, Agnes Massih and Edythe Flannery; brothers Thomas and William Goham.

Surviving are his daughter, Joan C. Mizenko, Nanticoke; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Dec. 11 from the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Wyoming, with the Rev. Jeffery Klansek of the First Baptist Church of Wyoming officiating. Interment, Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton.

Martha Jane Lingertot Hargraves, formerly of the Lee Park section of Hanover Township, died Saturday at Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township. She was born on July 6, 1910 in Pittston, daughter of the late Emil and Elizabeth Jane Davis Lingertot Sr. She attended Lee Park School and Hanover Junior High School. Mrs. Hargraves was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, it's Ladies Aide Society and Senior Citizens Club. She also belonged to the Lee Park Towers Center. She was employed by American Tobacco Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1972.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Sr., in 1985; daughter, Dorothy Harrington; brothers, Emil Jr. and Ernest; sisters, Ethel and Dorothy Pearson.

Surviving are sons, George H., Shavertown; Franklin C. Jr., Trailwood; daughter, Mrs. Harry (Elizabeth) Pierson, Lee Park; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Mildred Williams, Levittown; Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts, Shavertown; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 from the Kniffen-O'Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11 in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Erickson officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church Choir Fund or the Altar Flower Fund.
