He was born June 20, 1918, in Meshoppen, son of the late Lesley G. and Clarissa Jane Pond Harvey and attended Meshoppen schools. He resided in Meshoppen for many years, prior to moving to Luzerne.

Mr. Harvey was employed as a construction worker for various local companies. He was also previously employed as a coal miner.

His wife Jean, brothers, Louis, George, Phillip, Charles and Herman, and sisters, Rose McManus, Emily Menig, and Christine Sims, preceded his in death.

Surviving are daughters, Patty Jean; brother, Willard, Larksville; nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at the convenience of the family from the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St. Plymouth.

Frank L. Thoma, 68, of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born Jan. 12, 1930, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Frank and Elsie Cresswell Thoma. He attended E.L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed for over 20 years as a truck driver with Branch Motor Express, Milton, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre; the Teamsters, New Jersey; and he was an active volunteer for the Wyoming Valley Children's Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Patricia M. Hargrave, in 1987; and brothers, James and Ralph. Surviving are daughters, Patricia Matthews, Luzerne; Suzanne Thoma, Portage; son, Frank L., III, Millers Falls, Mass.; sisters, Florann McKoy, Cartwright, Okla.; Joyce Perdikas, Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. Private Funeral services will be the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, Kingston Township.
