George William (Willie) Hannis was a Farmer.3 George Hannis52Susan Hannis36Eliza Hannis16Helty Hannis11George Hannis3George William Hannis was born in Jackson Township Dec. 16th 1867 and departed this life in the same house he was born March 6th 1913 at the age of 45 yrs. 2 mo. and 22 days. He spent all his life on the same farm. He has been ailing for several years with stomach trouble which has lately developed into what his physician thought was cancer of the stomach which was the immediate cause of his death. He was joined in marriage Feb. 8th 1912 to Miss Rosetta Scott also of Jackson township whom he leaves to mourn his loss he also leaves his aged mother who he has constantly cared for and looked after since the death of his father in Oct. 1894 he also leaves one half sister Mrs. E. B. Cooper of Baltimore Twp.

The funeral was held Saturday Mar. 8th at 11:30 at Pleasant Hill Chapel conducted by Rector w. T. Jackson of the Episcopalian church of Mt. Pleasant; he also married him. The interment was in the cemetery near church.

Will as he was generally called was quite a genius; he never learned any trade but was very handy in many ways did saw filing for people all over the vicinity had his own Blacksmith shop and was quite handy in this line and also in wood work. And will be sadly missed; the number of friends and neighbors and relatives who turned out to the last sad rites show the esteem and sympathy in which he was held in the community.
