Richard L. Snyder, 79, of Haverford, died Jan. 12 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Born in Perryville, Md., he was reared in Philadelphia. He was a resident of Haverford for the past 40 years.

Mr. Snyder was employed by Westinghouse for 34 years. He worked his way from chip grinder, steamfitter, laboratory worker, retiring as a supervisor in 1986.

He began his military services as a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve then transferred to the U.S. Army, where he served four years active duty.

Mr. Snyder attended Llanerch Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Upper Darby VFW. He enjoyed trips to the casino and bowled in several area leagues. An avid Eagles and Flyers fan, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was always his first love.

Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Janet M. Clarkson Snyder; sons, Richard L. Snyder Jr. of Peach Bottom, William L. Snyder of Collingdale, John Snyder of Upper Darby; daughters, Patricia J. Dubolino, Cynthia Siedlecki, both of Brookhaven; sisters, Anna O'Neill, Christine Griffis, both of West Chester; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill.

Visitation: After 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Janet M. Snyder, (nee Clarkson), 78, of Havertown, PA, died October 28, 2013 at her daughter's home in Brookhaven.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Bartram Village section of the city, Mrs. Snyder was a resident of Havertown for 45 years. She worked in the food service industry, employed by ARA and following her retirement served as a crossing guard for the Haverford School District for 16 years.
Mrs. Snyder was a faithful member of Llanerch Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed going to the Casino's, visiting the Boardwalk and solving crossword puzzles. Janet enjoyed cooking and had a refined pallet. She especially loved entertaining, was devoted to her family and will be fondly remembered as "Crazy Aunt Janet".

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard in 2010, parents William and Catherine (nee Schmick) Clarkson and grandson, Kevin Shober in 2012. Survivors: include her children, Richard L. Snyder, Jr., William L. Snyder, Patricia J. Dubolino, John Snyder and Cynthia Siedlecki. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Harmon and Joan Eager, 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Service: Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, from the Toppitzer Funeral Home, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026 where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Contributions: In her memory to Crozer Keystone Hospice, 5030 State Rd., Suite 3001, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 would be preferred.
