She and Carl Clark Boyer, Sr., were divorced before 9 April 1940 in Florida.² She was married in 1941 in Dade County, Florida.³ She was divorced in 1942.⁴ She died on 2 September 2005, at age 97, in Glendale, Maricopa, Arizona.¹ She was buried in Saint Anthony de Padua Catholic Church Columbarium, Wickenburg, Maricopa, Arizona.¹

Vivian Boyer

Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Vivian Boyer this Friday (Sept. 16) at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church.

Vivian passed away Friday, Sept. 2 at Banner Thunderbird Hospital in Glendale, Ariz. Vivian was born Nov. 19, 1907 in Rochester, N.Y., to Guiseppe and Tunocenza Arnao.

She was raised in New York State and by her mid-teens had entered the entertainment field.

Vivian married in 1922 and had one child Carl, who passed away at the age of 23 due to injuries sustained as a U.S. Navy gunner in World War II.

Before Carl passed away, he persuaded his mother to become an airplane pilot and to see the world. This Vivian did, and in a big way.

She eventually became the ambassador for the Women's International Association of Aeronautics, Inc. In this capacity, Vivian traveled world-wide with great enthusiasm and success.

Vivian came to Wickenburg 12 years ago. She lived her remaining years here in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

She is survived by grandsons Scott Boyer and Gary Boyer, both of North Carolina, and many grandchildren.

An amazing attribute of Vivian's was that she had perfect hearing and eyesight, and was totally mentally coherent and sharp as a tack, just as quick and alert as people 90 years her junior.

Carl Clark Boyer, Jr., was born on 7 May 1925 in Sussex County, New Jersey.¹ He and Wilma Christine Hughes were married on 2 March 1947 in North Carolina.² He died on 9 December 1948, at age 23, in Oteen, Buncombe, North Carolina.¹ He was buried in Thomas Memorial Cemetery, Qualla, Jackson, North Carolina.¹

U.S. Navy- WWII- 07 Jun 1942- 15 Mar 1943.^3,4 Carl Clark Boyer, Jr., was educated University of Miami/ University of North Carolina.² Carl C. Boyer, 23, of Miami, Fla., and Whittier, author and staff writer for the Sylva Herald at Sylva, died yesterday in a hospital here following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Boyer, a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, is survived by the widow, Mrs. Wilma Hughes Boyer of Whittier; two sons, Gary Arnao and Richard Scott Boyer and the mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Ropes of Miami. The body will be sent today to Miami for funeral services and burial. Morris-Gearing and Black Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Christine Hughes was born on 31 August 1927 in Jackson County, North Carolina.^1,2 She and Carl Clark Boyer, Jr., were married on 2 March 1947 in North Carolina.³ She was married on 1 August 1960 in Jackson County, North Carolina.⁴ She was divorced on 11 February 1988 in Broward County, Florida.⁵ She died on 24 July 1989, at age 61, in Ashville, Buncombe, North Carolina.¹ She was buried in Thomas Memorial Cemetery, Qualla, Jackson, North Carolina.¹

Wilma Christine Hughes was educated Western Carolina Teachers College.³
