Grace Bell York was born on 10 February 1921 in Converse County, Wyoming.1 She and Lester Clarence Wintermote were married on 17 June 1936 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.2 She died on 12 August 2003, at age 82, in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.1 She was buried in Douglas Park Cemetery, Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.1
Grace Bell York Wintermote was born February 10, 1921 on the family ranch north of Shawnee, Wyoming to John Earl and Verna Thompson York. She was reared and educated in Missouri; Glenrock, Wyoming and Shawnee, Wyoming.

Grace married Lester Clarence Wintermote on June 17, 1939 in Douglas, Wyoming and they moved to the Wintermote ranch 15 miles east of Douglas where she lived the rest of her life. They had six children.

Mrs. Wintermote was a member of the Walker Creek Homemakers. She enjoyed hunting arrowheads, crocheting, and bird watching.

She was survived by five children: Peggy and husband James "Bud" Middeleton; Joan and husband W. Dale Wright; Allen and wife Nancy Wintermote; Sharon and husband Leroy Ferris and Steven Wintermote; brother, Donald York and wife Donna; sisters-in-law Dorothy York and Zella Ratliff; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on September 25, 1981; son Vernon Wintermote on Jan. 21, 1996; and brother Earl York.

Vivian Joan Tiedt was born on 1 July 1936 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.1 She and Ross K. Robison were married on 7 August 1955 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.2 She died on 15 August 1999, at age 63, in Marysville, Snohomish, Washington.2,1 She was buried Cremated.1
Vivian Joan Tiedt Robison was born July 1, 1936 in Douglas, Wyoming to Robert and Leona Wintermote Tiedt. She attended school in Converse County, Wyoming and graduated from the Douglas High School. After graduating she worked in the Converse County hospital for a time as a nurses aid.

Vivian married Ross K. Robison in Douglas on August 7, 1955 and they moved to Seattle, Washington shortly after their marriage. To this union were born three children: Karen, Brad and Gail.

Vivian worked as a nurses aid for many years in the Seattle area. She enjoyed the outdoors so they spent a lot of time camping in the mountains of Washington.

She passed away August 8, 1999 in Marysville, Washington. Surviving were her children, Karen Robison-Becker of Douglas; Bradley Robison of Everett, Washington and Gail Minor of Marysville; sister, Betty Alberts of Douglas, Wyoming; brother, Donald Tiedt of Corpus Christi, Texas and seven grandchildren; a step-mother, June Tiedt of Grant, Nebraska; a stepsister, Kathy Fowler of Wallace, Nebraska; and stepbrother, Nick Markos of Fort Worth, Texas. She was also survived by a sister-in-law, Luella Burback of Douglas; aunts Grace Wintermote of Douglas and Zella Ratliff of Lander, Wyoming; and all their families.

Vivian's information is submitted by her sister, Betty Alberts.

Note: Vivian and her husbands ashes were buried together in the mountains south of Douglas, Wyoming at a relatives camping area. There is no headstone for either of them.

Robert Roy Tiedt was born on 5 October 1911 in Holden, Bruce, Alberta, Canada.1 He and Leona Elnora Wintermote were married on 27 December 1932 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming.2 He was married on 23 March 1948.2 He was divorced on 6 February 1950.2 He was married on 31 October 1953.2 He died on 4 April 1986, at age 74, in Powell, Park, Wyoming.1 He was buried in Donald J. Ruhl Memorial Cemetery, Greybull, Big Horn, Wyoming.2,1
Robert Roy Tiedt was a Truck Driver.2 Robert Roy Tiedt was born in Bruce, Alberta, Canada on October 5, 1911 to Charles and Emma Voss Tiedt. He came to the United States with his parents in 1921.

In the early 30s he came to Converse County, Wyoming where he married Leona Wintermote on December 27, 1932. They settled on her homestead west of Casper, Wyoming where they lived until 1939. They moved back to Converse County where Bob ranched and worked for Stanolind Pipeline. To this union were born two girls, Betty Lou and Vivian Joan; and one son, Donald Roy. Leona passed away Sept. 10, 1941.

Robert married Inez Hannon on March 23, 1948 and they divorced February 6, 1950.

He then married June Syferd Markos on October 31, 1953. June and her former husband had 4 children; two of whom were still living at home with June (Nick and Kathy Markos) and Bob raised them as his own. They moved to Greybull, Wyoming where they purchased a nursing home. June ran the nursing home and Bob drove truck for Wyo Ben Bentonite for a number of years. In retirement he enjoyed fishing and studying Wyoming history.

Survivors included his wife, June; son Donald R. of New Orleans, LA.; daughters, Betty Alberts of Douglas, Wyoming and Vivian Robison of Seattle, WA; step-son Nick Markos of Gillette, Wyoming and step-daughter, Kathy Fowler of Wallace, NE; two sisters, Hertha Harding and Esther Hoenecke of Canada.

Robert's information is submitted by his daughter, Betty Alberts, and was taken from his christening certificate, marriage records, obituary that was in the Douglas Budget, Douglas, WY April 17, 1986 and death certificate. He immigrated in 1921.2

Zella Myra Wintermote was born on 6 January 1917 in 14 mi. East of Douglas, Converse, Wyoming. She and Newton Melbern Crane were married on 8 May 1936 in Fall River County, South Dakota. She and James Bell Ratliff were married on 3 September 1946 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming. She died on 6 November 2011, at age 94, in Riverton, Fremont, Wyoming. She was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander, Wyoming.

Funeral services for Zella M. "Toots" Ratliff of Riverton are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.
Mrs. Ratliff died at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton on Sunay, Nov. 6, 2011. She was 94.
Zella Myra Wintermote was born on the family homestead 13 miles out of Douglas on Jan. 6, 1917, the daughter of Elsworth V. and Rachel Maud (Ballantyne) Wintermote. She was educated in the first through eighth grades in a one-room log building a quarter-mile east of the homestead house. She was graduated from Douglas High School with the class of 1935.
Mrs. Ratliff was a homemaker, having married James B. Ratliff in Douglas,. The family moved to Morton in 1948.
She worked as an insurance clerk at Bishop Randall Hospital in Lander and was a life-member of the Auxiliary to thr Riverton Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors incude her children, Billie Joy Hardy and her husband Doug of Golden Valley, Ariz., Larry D. Ratliff of Cheyenne and Geraldine "Gerry" Dewey and her husband, John of Riverton; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Raliff; her parents; a sister, Leona; a brother, Lester; and a son Danny D. Ratliff, on Sept. 26, 2011.
Memorial may be made to the Help for Health Hospice Home, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
Arrangements are under the director of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.

Lester married Grace Bell York on July 17, 1939 in Douglas, Wyoming. They had six children: Peggy Ann who married James Allen "Bud" Middleton, Joan Lee who married W. Dale Wright, Allen Lester, Sharon Kay who married Leroy Alvin Ferris, Vernon Keith and Steven John.

He lived on the family ranch until his death and was survived by his wife and six children; and one sister, Zella Myra Ratliff. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Leona Elnora Tiedt.

Rachel Maud Ballantyne was born July 25, 1892 in Medina, Texas to Robert Thomas Ballantyne and Lydia Malinda Sutherland Ballantyne. As a child of 4 years old she came with her family from Texas to Nebraska in a covered wagon. It took them about 5 years to make the trip. They stopped on the Cherokee Nation and stayed on the Indian Reservation 4 years. It was snowing when they got to Nebraska and they spent the winter in a granery.

Rachel married Elsworth Vernon Wintermote in Chambers, Nebraska on September 28, 1910. They had two children in Chambers, Nebraska: Leona Elnora born April 12, 1911 and Lester Clarence born July 5, 1914.

In 1916 they moved to Wyoming and homesteaded 15 miles east of Douglas, Wyoming. Another child, Zella Myra, was born January 6, 1917.

Rachel and Elsworth ranched on the homestead until their retirement when they moved into Douglas to care for their 3 grandchildren who had lost their mother (Leona Tiedt). Lester took over management of the ranch.

Rachel passed away in Lander, Wyoming on March 15, 1977 leaving to survive her a son, Lester and daughter, Zella Ratliff and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Rachel's information was obtained from family members, her birth certificate, marriage license, death certificate and obituary in the Douglas Budget, Douglas, Wyoming March 1977. It is submitted by her granddaughter, Betty Alberts.

Victor D. Wintermote

Victor D. Wintermote, 74, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at his home. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in McGill Cemetery in Potwin.

He was born Jan. 2, 1930, in Benton, the son of Roy L. and Nellie Rollings Wintermote. He had lived in Butler County all of his life except the time he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a laborer for the Butler County Highway Department for 32 years. On May 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Violet Davis in Leon. He attended the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include: wife, Violet, of the home; sons, Rodney of Aberdeen, Wash., and Rev. Jeffrey of Turpin, Okla.; daughter, Brenda Whitson of El Dorado; brother, Ron Wintermote of Yates Center; sister, Evelyn Place of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Cleda Caput.

A memorial has been established with the Assembly of God Church and may be left at Carlson Funeral Home where friends may call. The family requests casual dress at the service.2
