AUSTIN -- The funeral for June E. Ferguson will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Mrs. Ferguson, 89, of Austin, died Sunday (May 21, 2006) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.
June Bly was born June 9, 1916, in Cresco, Iowa. She married Walter Ferguson on May 17, 1934, in Austin. A lifelong Austin resident, she was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, embroidering, collecting statistics, collecting salt and pepper shakers and dining out. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Senior Center and St. Olaf Church.

Survivors include four sons, Charles (Shirley) Ferguson and Ronald (Winnie) Ferguson, both of Austin, Alvin (Kathy) Ferguson of Elmore, Minn., and David Schneider of Woodside, Texas; two daughters, Phyllis Keyser of West Valley City, Utah, and Marian Wilke of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Tabor and Maxine (Emil) Laack, both of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, a son, four sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be an hour before the service on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to the family.

Mrs. Emery, 84, of Austin, a homemaker, died Sunday (Aug. 15, 1999) at the Adams Healthcare Center in Adams.

Beulah Bly was born March 16, 1915, in Aberdeen, S.D. On March 9, 1936, she married Conard Emery. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Emery enjoyed flowers and watching television, especially the country-western music channels.

Survivors include two daughters, Juanita (Mrs. Ernest) Engan of Dorchester, Iowa, and Edith Huffman of Brownsdale; two sons, Alvie of Austin and Jerry of Fort Morgan, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Evelyn Burk of Tacoma, Wash., and June Ferguson, Arlene Tabor and Maxine (Mrs. Emil) Laack, all of Austin. She was preceded in death by a grandson, two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.

MRS. HARRY SCHNEIDER
LaVonne Lena Bly, daughter of Alva and Anna Bly, age 20 years, 10 ½ months, was born in Cresco, Iowa, on January 31, 1918. She was united in marriage to Harry H. Schneider, in Austin, on January 11, 1936. To this union one child, David Henry, was born. Mrs. Schneider had resided and spent most of her life in and near Austin, where she was very well and favorably known.
She leaves besides her husband and son to mourn her passing, her father and mother; six sisters, Mrs. Herbert Spreckles, Mrs. Douglas Burk, Mrs. Conrad Emery, Mrs. Walter Ferguson, the Misses Arlena and Maxine Bly and one brother, Alvin Bly. Besides these members of her immediate family she will be greatly missed by other relatives and a host of friends, who have known and loved her. She has been a member of the United Brethren church, since January 1936.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Schutte funeral home, the Rev. Paul W. McFarland of the United Brethern church officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

AUSTIN -- Alvin G. Bly, 72, of 1306 Ninth Ave. N.W., a former employee of Land 'O Lakes and Winnebago Industries, died of natural causes Thursday (Oct, 3, 1991) at his home.

Born Aug. 16, 1919, in Lansing, Minn., he married Virginia Larson on May 24, 1968, in Austin.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Parker of California and Eveleyn Bly of Oregon; a son, Thomas of Seattle, Wash.; several grandchidren; and six sisters, Alice Spreckels of Hayward, Wis., Evelyn Burk of Tacoma, Wash., and Beulah Emery, June Ferguson, Arlene Tabor and Maxine Laack, all of Austin. A sister preceded him in death.

There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Matt officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
There will be no visitation or reviewal.

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Emil C. Laack Sr. will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Robert Iverson officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin, with American Legion Post 91 providing military rites.

Mr. Laack, 83, of Austin, died Sunday (March 2, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Emil Carl Laack was born June 9, 1924, in Waltham. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. Upon returning to Austin, he met Maxine Bly. They were married March 22, 1947, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Mr. Laack was employed by the Geo. A. Hormel Co. for more than 40 years. He retired in 1982. In 1959 he helped organize Army reunions with his buddies from the 1138th Engineers Battalion. He was a longtime member of the Eagles Club, the American Legion and the VFW, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and carving, sharing jokes with family and friends, hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and traveling with his wife.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandra Rumsey of Austin; two sons, Emil Jr. "Butch" (Linda) of Austin and Bruce of London, Minn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hank (Audrey) Grage of Devine, Texas. He was preceded in death by three brothers, six sisters and two grandsons.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
