Velma Hazel Gerhard was a School Teacher.1 Velma was a School Teacher. After her marriage she and Mac lived at Durham and then Blenheim where Mac was a Bank Manager. When he retired they moved back to Delhi to live with her mother in the family home at 220 Norfolk Ave. and Velma remained there. She was a member of Delhi United Church and enjoyed reading and playing Bridge with her friends. They spent their summers at the cottage at Normandale and in the 1960's Aunt Mabel had two large Gerhard family reunions there. Velma enjoyed travelling and has been on several trips abroad.

McLEISH - Velma H. McLeish (nee Gerhard) of 220 Norfolk Street, Delhi passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, August 13, 1994 in her 89th year. She was a member of the Delhi United Church Women's Auxiliary and former member of the I.O.D.E. in Durham. Beloved wife of the late William George McLeish (1973). Dear mother of Dr. William McLeish (and wife Margaret), Ottawa and Bruce McLeish (and wife Sherry), Elora. Loving grandmother of Susan, James, Ann and William McLeish. Predeceased by a brother, Dr. Bruce Gerhard. Resting at the Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi for funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday at 2 P.M. Interment Delhi Cemetery. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
