MYSTIC, CT - Charles E. Rowett, age 89, died Sunday May 27, 2007 at Mystic Manor Nursing Home in Mystic. Mr. Rowett was born in Franklin, NJ on November 7, 1917. He was the son of William and Stella Wintermute Rowett. He resided in Franklin for 68 years.
Mr. Rowett was Senior Vice President of Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, NJ, where he worked for 34 years. He retired in 1971.
Mr. Rowett was predeceased by his wife, Harriet Burcher Rowett, on Dec. 24, 2006 and a son, Gene Rowett. He is survived by a son, Dale Rowett, MD of Noank, CT, 4 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Lions Club in Eliza, Ill. Mrs. Alexander was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Franklin, N. J., the daughter of William E. and Stella Wintermute Rowett. She married William C. Alexander on Dec. 9, 1944, in Treasure Island, Calif. She was of the Methodist Faith. She was assistant treasurer at the Hill City Bank in Summit, N. J. for 16 years. She also served Meals on Wheels in Summitt and volunteered fro the NOW program in the local area. She enjoyed playing bingo, bird watching, and visiting with friends. Survivors include a daughter, Lynett North and her husband, James, of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren, Alex, Chris and Patrick North; a brother, Charles Rowett of Sussex, N. J.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1999, a sister and four brothers.
