Mrs. Harry LaDassor Dies at 72
Mrs. Harry (Sevena Delilah) LaDassor, 72, died this morning at the Holy Family Hospital of a lung condition. She had been hospitalized since June, 1961 and has been in failing health since that time.

Mrs. LaDassor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Snever, was born Sept. 4, 1890, at Hills, Minn. She received her education at the Hills and Kanaranzi, Minn., schools.

Mr. and Mrs. LaDassor were married Feb. 24, 1914, in Kanaranzi and they moved to Estherville in 1915. Mr. LaDassor was an employee of the Rock Island railroad for 37 years before his death on April 1, 1961.

Mrs. LaDassor is survived by one son, Alba LaDassor, Estherville, one grandson, Linn LaDassor of Rock Rapids, and one niece, Mrs. Henry Wulf, Dell Rapids, S.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and two sisters.

Family services will be held at 12 noon Thursday at the Sternborg-Reese Chapel and public service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel with the Rev. Lester Strubhar officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from 9 a.m. tomorrow until the time of service on Thursday. The casket will not be open after the service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 23, 1962)

Luverne, and they took up residence on the Snover farm in
Kanaranzi with very bright prospects for their future. In
August of 1918 he entered the army and was assigned to the
radio corps and stationed at Fort Snelling. His death
from Spanish influenza followed after only a few days
illness. He was buried here at Maplewood Cemetery with full military honors.

moved to Scranton, PA, where there were Snover relatives, and obtained employment. A few years later she moved to
Chicago where she worked for Butler Brothers and the
Illinois Central Railroad for a time. She met Clarence A. Schimel, a tool and die maker, (machinist) while in Chicago, and they were married on Feb. 1, 1932. By 1940, she and Clarence moved to Kanaranzi to operate the farm for her mother, following the loss of her father in 1937.
They were members of First Baptist Church in Luverne. She
lost her life as the result of a car accident just north of Luverne while returning from a church ladies' retreat.
Later, Clarence re-married and moved to Big Rapids, Michigan, where he died of a heart attack in 1965. He is buried in Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids, Michigan.
